Disney has confirmed that it has been working with publisher Nighthawk Interactive and developer Digital Eclipse to release remastered versions of Aladdin and The Lion King in one $29.99 bundle. There’s a number of improvements including “upscaled graphics to support high definition displays and additional upgrades to enhance playability”
You will also get “save states, a new rewind feature, level selection, invulnerability, and infinite lives.” This classic game collection also includes extra of versions of each titles including the SEGA Mega Drive, Game Boy, and Super Game Boy releases alongside The Lion King Super Nintendo version. You’ll also get the “final cut” of Aladdin plus the game’s 1993 trade show demo. So it’s all sounding rather good!
Price seems too high imo. I’d probably buy it for $15 or so. Two very old games for $30 is crazy. I’ll wait for a sale.
Nvm just realized it said it has multiple versions of the games. Even so, $30 is too much.
See how much effort goes into the remaster and then it might be more worth the price tag.
That’s really cool that they have all the different versions. I’m very interested now
What about physical?
eshop games may as well not exist. They DON’T for people like myself. Get physical or get LOST!
You’re entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to disagree; your loss I guess. Unfortunately for you, If you don’t keep up with the times, you will soon find yourself being left behind. I imagine you have about five years tops of getting to try new games remaining and that’s a very liberal estimate, more like two or three. The digital age is coming, physical has already been in the process of being phased out since about 2010, and it’s on it’s last legs now. It’s not all bad news for you though; I guess you’ll still always have your old games to play… until they break.
Back on topic, I already have these games on my SNES so I will not be repurchasing them.
Unless you have the Sega Genesis version, you don’t own the Aladdin game being remastered. Lion King was largely the same between SNES and Genesis, though Genesis ran faster and got better reviews. Aladdin on the other hand is a completely different game between the two consoles. The Genesis version is considered to be the better of the titles and is the version being remastered, not the SNES game. If you’ve only played the SNES game then you’re missing out on the better game!
The Eshope doesnt make sense anyway when most of the tittles I already have on my Wii or Wii U when I want Gamecube titles.
Convenient that both movies these games are based on had live-action remakes released earlier this year- one was mediocre and the other was just straight bad.
I had Ninga Turtles and the Lion King on Tiger handheld. I lost them after my mom got me a Gameboy. And then it didnt make any sense after that for my mom to continue buying Tiger.
I also had Lion King on Sega Genesis and Goofy the Exhibit .
$29.99? For this old game? It shod be $9.99 now.
I liked Tiny Toons Adventure for Sega Genesis and Gameboy.
