Twitter user PushDustin and Reset Era member Vestan are reporting that Nintendo could be planning to bring Banjo-Kazooie to the excellent Super Smash Bros Ultimate within the next two weeks. The news comes from a 7-11 display which has gone up in Japan advertising the game and Banjo-Kazooie. Vestan says “Hero’s display was put up on July 24 with it lasting until August 4. Hero released on July 30. Going by this, Banjo will drop sometime within the next 14 days.” Here’s hoping the user is correct and that Banjo will arrive very soon!

Smash Bros. Ultimate made me realize that I’m not a Smash Bros. fan anymore. It’s partly caused by the fact of my favorite modes from Melee etc. being non-existent. Such as Break The Targets. And I HATE the new spirit mode. The only thing about this game that’s cool (to me) is the large roster, music, and all of the stages representing the greatest games in history. I just wish it was an RPG (similar to Kingdom Hearts) instead of a fighting game. I only unlocked about 10 or so fighters, but I don’t even care if I ever return. I think I’m just too old for it or something.
I’m only a couple weeks away from 40 and I have to say that ultimate is the game I’ve spent most time with for a video game in ages. I haven’t spent hardly any time with the spirit mode, buts it’s the online that has me hooked and this is definitely the core gameplay and selling point of this particular game. It’s very competitive and addictive if you get gud.
Spirits mode was actually my favorite part of the new smash because it provided a lengthy single player experience, rpg-like customization for different fighting experiences, loads of awesome and even obscure video game references, and sick-ass boss fights that I enjoyed. I wish there was something to break up all the battles. A change up in gameplay. Something like Break the Targets would have been good to add for sure. Still Smash is LOADED with content and I’ve just come to the conclusion that I’ve fallen out of the franchise. I’ve played Smash Brothers FOR YEARS but lately I’m more interested in single player rpgs and less multiplayer stuff. You just get stuck in a repetitive loops with multiplayer games and now I just want to play games that actually have endings. I like games where I can customize things more also. Smash is fine when I need to whip something out when I’m with other folks. The guys I know never tire of it but it’s not my taste anymore. I’m in an rpg phase now and I’m WAY more hype for the new Dragon Quest title or Trials of Mana. I dunno. Ya just move on. You don’t have to like Smash Brothers at all. Folks have gaming preferences. It’s absolutely fine regardless of what internet people tell you, you must love as a gamer lol.

You have a negative aura because you insult people who like what you dislike. Ive seen it before specifically with you. But I do side with you, that you can’t criticise some franchises without having “those people” coming after you and bashing you for doing so. Although I believe age has nothing to do with this. It’s just different taste and different people.
Like you, I just discovered Im not that big of a fan of smash bros either. Ultimates appeal seem to be the graphical improvements of course and the very large roster. I also miss break the target and the sub space emissary. Oh and the game producer’s excuse for not wanting to go that route is kind of absurd. (He wont make one again because people uploaded to youtube and spoiled it) Im not 100% sure if this true but I do remember reading this many times when Smash for wii u and 3ds was under production.

There is a difference between being childish & being young. The “too old” phrase is more a reference to how someone isn’t as young as they use to be, not that they are no longer childish. I have to wonder the age of those jumping to the conclusion that you are calling them or others childish for liking Smash as if they haven’t heard the phrase before and what it actually means when someone says it. I grew up watching movies like Lethal Weapon where older characters will sometimes utter the phrase “I’m getting too old for this.” so I know what someone means when they say “too old for this.” It quite literally means they aren’t as young as they use to be.
i hope they bring it back once they realize new DLC characters.

Your complaint could easily be translated as saying you dislike the new 3D Mario games because you cannot use the Flood machine found on Super Mario Sunshine anymore. Smash has always been the same since 64, each iteration bringing new features and gameplay improvements that have made the game more fun on a casual level, but also make it feel heavily different from each other. but it has always been the same, break the target, and home run contest features that could never rival features such as 8-player Smash or World of Light are just that, features, you were never a Smash fan, you were a Break the Target fan, big difference buddy, not saying you are not allowed to express your opinion, but I would never take someone that thinks Break The Target is a deal-breaker for then is a fan of the series. Let alone you wishing the series was a single-player experience, something Brawl already experimented with and thank god Sakurai vision of the game being a multiplayer focus series never faded.

Which tells me you never really got into the game to begin with, which is fine, but then why go out of the way to tell people how bad you think the game is on Smash related news blog (especially if your grand conclusion is that you’re too old for this children’s game, or this children’s game isn’t like Kingdom Hearts… which is another children’s game).
I’d be surprised if this were true but you never know. Banjo Kazooie are probably just there to advertise the fact they’re the next dlc characters rather than it meaning they will be out very soon.

The way I see it; If the base gameplay is amazing then any extra modes on top are just the icing on the cake.
I admit I do miss Break the targets but to me first and foremost, the core-gameplay needs to be good and Smash Bros Ultimate delivers that in spades.
As for spirits; Personally I love that mode but I can understand people hating it.
If Nintendo will add again those features what you will do?
Personally I hated some minigames like break the targets. In Smash Brawl I always skipped those minigames because they were boring and you don’t have to do that minigame. I personally prefer to focus on combat style and that’s what Ultimate is made for.

I’m sometimes surprised when I get replies like yours. Because I’m always expecting those “people on the internet” to come along and start bashing me for hating everything. I do have a sort of negative aura about me.
I’ve had interest in Dragon Quest for years, but for some reason I’ve never played any of them. And I’ve even got some of them too. But I’m overwhelmed with games. I have so many that even when I choose one to play, I start thinking about another one I have, and it’s hard to focus on the one I’m playing. And I’m one of those people who won’t play a different game until I finish the one I’m playing (unless I get bored with the one I’m playing and lose interest).
To be fair, your negative aura just implied to those people on the internet that they’re childish for liking Smash Brothers.
You can’t word an overtly negative critique for negativities sake then be surprised when people might argue with you on that.
I don’t get why people are so upset that the original poster said the games are “childish”. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s more a description of a game’s appeal or style. Smash Brothers is an all ages party fighter title where literal video game mascots fight each other. Sonic and Mario were definitely designed with kids in mind cause no way did someone think a Blue Hedgehog with red shows was how to appeal to adults lol. It’s not a real big deal. I love Kirby and Kirby games are definitely childish. Yet I’m an adult. Pixar films are children’s films or “childish” but adults like them too. It’s not a personal attack or nothing. Maybe op just wants a game that is more narrative driven or less about mascots. *shrugs* That’s just a preference. I don’t think it warrants even thinking about or being offended by. It’s a real whatever description.
Also I also have to finish a game I start before starting another one…. usually. Sometimes I break but I also have that compulsion so I get it.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THAT POINT! I’d be sort of a hypocrite if I called Smash Bros. childish, while at the same time loving Yoshi’s Crafted World. A game that looks like it was made for pre-school kids. LOL! There’s actually different categories of the terms “for kids” and “childish”. And sometimes I really don’t know which one to use. Because I always end up sounding hypocritical. To sum up my feelings towards Smash Bros., I think it all boils down to me just not liking fighting games anymore. And there’s not really anything that Nintendo (or Sakurai) can do to make me love it. I prefer open world games, adventure games, action games, and some platforming and RPG games.
