HECK YES. Time to play Star Fox

  2. Snes era is one if the best ever read in Nintendo gaming history. So much nostalgia for nes with Nintendo which is sweet but come on! Those games have not aged as impressively as a new titles have. Especially with additions like save states and rewind. Should help the aspects that have aged less gracefully.

Just sad Kirby Super Star wasn’t in this beginning batch but they are probably saving best batches of games for later

  3. im gona get stuck into these. Super Mario world, super Metroid, link to the past. Trouble is with everything else I gotta play I’m gona need to freeze time somehow to fit it all in!

  4. I have to try out the original Star Fox when I get the chance.

Here’s to hoping Soul Blazer (Blader in Japan) also gets added at a later date. I spent over a decade trying to recall that one game a friend of my older brother’s helped me play when I was a child and I found out that it was called Soul Blazer last year. Get to it, Squeenix! Probably won’t happen though since Squeenix seems to be a little stupid lately what with that “ethics” department fucking shit up.

  5. Am i the only one tired of getting NES/SNES virtual console games? the wii, and wii u was chock full of it and even the 3ds, I love those games but I dont wanna keep buying them every generation. I just want a more N64 focused VC like the Wii/Wii U had, and some gamecube titles. I just wanna play paper mario 1 and 2. smash bros 1 and melee, something.

    1. ” I just want a more N64 focused VC like the Wii/Wii U had”

Not sure where you get this idea. Botht he Wii and Wii U had *dramatically* more NES and SNES titles than N64 titles. A quick look up shows 94 NES titles and 21 N64 titles.

Either way, NES games are both simpler to update and nostalgic for a wider audience. After all, the NES sold about twice as many consoles as the N64. Its a tough sell to a board room to spend more resources on updating what are, on paper at least, less popular games.

  6. If they are gonna release new game consoles every year, next year is probably N64.

With that being said, I actually hope like (Surprise announcement: Game and Watch games are now on the Switch) that would be a cool little reward.

  7. do you think they’ll add Star Fox 2?

I hope they add the Japanese exclusive Mario Games, like Mario Excitebike and Wrecking Crew ’98, maybe even Mario & Wario.

Also hoping they add the Donkey Kong Country games, Turtles in Time, Earthworm Jim 1 & 2, Battle Toads & Double Dragon, and Clay Fighter
