There has been, yet again, even more Nintendo mobile gaming data that Sensor Tower has released. However, it is because of some very good news. Pokemon GO has managed to surpass $3,000,000,000 in lifetime gross revenue. The game has been available for over 3 years now. In that time frame, Sensor Tower says that “it has been downloaded approximately 541,000,000 times worldwide, with an average revenue per download of nearly $5.60”. This is not the game’s top grossing year. That honor belongs to 2016, when the game generated $832,400,000. Pokemon GO received $589,300,000 in 2017 and $816,300,000 in 2018. So far, the game has generated $774,300,000 this year.
As for regions, most of the user spending has been coming from the United States. Americans have spent $1,100,000,000 , or 36.2% of the total lifetime revenue. Japan is in second with $884,500,000, or 29.4%, and Germany comes in third with $181,600,000, or 6%. Platform, meanwhile, are more split down the middle. 54.4% of the total lifetime gross revenue, or over $1,600,000,000 has come from Google Play users. App Store users have spent $1,400,000,000, or 45.6%.
Downloads were also discussed. According to Sensor Tower, “The U.S. also accounts for the majority of downloads, racking up 99,300,000 unique installs, or 18.4% of all downloads. Brazil has generated the second most downloads with 58,400,000, or 10.8%, while Mexico comes in third with 34,000,000 downloads, or 6.3%. Android devices account for the vast majority of downloads, driving 424,600,000 unique installs, or 78.5% of the total. The App Store has generated 116,000,000 downloads, or 21.5%”.
