Former senior editor at Game Informer says canceled Fire Emblem remake and others could “eventually come to Switch”

Imran Khan who was the former senior editor at Game Informer, recently appeared on an episode of Kinda Funny Games and revealed that he believes that a previously canceled Fire Emblem remake and other canceled games could come to Nintendo Switch. The games were originally in development for the Nintendo 3DS late into the system’s life and were simply shuttered by the Kyoto-based company. Some of these titles were developed by the now bankrupt Alpha Dream who were behind the Mario & Luigi series of games.

“Like, I know there was another Fire Emblem remake in the works for 3DS and that was one of the things that like they shuttered. So maybe that’s one of the things they’ll bring forward in the future. There’s other stuff that hasn’t come over like a Style Savvy [game], for example,” he adds.

    Fire Emblem Blazing Sword Remake

      1. I think Binding Blade is in more desperate need of a remake. Not only is it Japan exclusive it’s also like the worst game in the series. Blazing Sword still holds up pretty well

Yeah but come on Blazing Sword is one of the coolest FE game I ever played

  2. C-canceled Fire Emblem remake?? I had no idea that was a thing! I know one of the FE directors talked about wanting to remake Binding Blade, but it’s funny how much Three Houses reeks of Genealogy of the Holy War, I was thinking they had switched gears and were maybe going to remake that game first.

Either way, I think a remake is inevitable for any of the games Pre-Awakening.

  3. Three houses changes so much in the FE universe. I wonder how easy would it be to remake those games using the Echoes engine which will look outdated in comparison.

Intelligent Games put themselves in a tight spot thanks to FE3H and Heroes.
