The original design for Sonic in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog Movie was controversial at best and the majority of fans hated it. Thankfully, the producers decided to delay the Sonic Movie until they had come up with a more faithful design to the video games. That new design has been doing the rounds on social media this morning and while it’s not confirmed it does look a whole lot better.

Okay, THIS is a design I can get behind, if it’s legit.
It looks so much better, actually like Sonic.
I like this. It has a certain charm to it.
The AMC in front of it looks like it’s saying SANIC

I had the same issue. Should have taken a closer look at the letters as well as the redesign.
I’d like a re-design of Jim Carrey where they make him more egg shaped.
We were all so focused on Sonic that we should have asked for Eggman to eventually mutate into his more iconic look. Least they got the facial hair right at the end of that trailer.
I’m honestly 100% just seeing this movie for Jim Carrey.
This design is a lot better as we expected. such perfection.
Even if the movie is crap, I’m still gonna see it because least they fucking listened to the criticisms concerning Sonic’s design and didn’t just go for the old “The fandom is just being toxic!” bullshit so many other whiny directors jump towards when people don’t kiss their ass & their “vision.” *cough*RianJohnson,PaulFeig*cough*
Same. I wonder if the theater I work at will be getting it, in which case, I get to see it for free- that’s potentially good if it still ends up being utter crap.
With any luck, it’ll pull a Detective Pikachu & actually be a GOOD movie adaptation of a video game.
This movie is now on my watch list. The re-design is just about perfect.
