A brand new trademark has been filed today for the much loved Mario & Luigi series. It was filed in Argentina for the purposes of both video game and smartphone software. The news was discovered by Let’s Go Digital via Reddit and our fingers are crossed that something will come from it. As you know, the Mario & Luigi RPG developer AlphaDream previously filed for bankruptcy
Maybe it’s the last title in the series. I hope it’s not a remake of the second chapter for the 3DS.
This is great, my childhood series is coming back. But anyone else confused why there’s no dot on “i” in “filed” at the title?
The “fi” is called a ‘ligature’, this occurs in certain fonts, when certain letters (In this case f and i) are joined as a single glyph (fi) and originates from old printing techniques :)

The series was good while it lasted. I just don’t get how it bankrupted? All they have been doing the ost 3 years is re-release older games. That couldn’t have costed much.
It’s kinda dumb that they remade the older games for the 3ds I guess they forgot that the 3ds can play ds games which is why the remakes didn’t sell well it was just updated graphics with some small mini spinoff stuck in, that’s like if new super mario Bros wii was remade with slightly updated graphics, and had some small mini spinoff stuck in for the wii u oh wai–
Well,, it still costs the same to make something even if you have the “blueprints” already. Still…. Seems like they used the same engine since Dream Team… Which probably explains a lot as to why they went downhill :/
Fingers crossed and hoping that it’s not another remake.
I’m still waiting for a Mario and Luigi where the antagonists (or secondary antagonists) are Wario and Waluigi

I like this series a lot although i hope they really push it forward with this new one and the technology of the Switch available. It’s become a bit samey
I’ve only played one game in this series all the way though (Parters In Time) and loved it. Then I played Bowser’s Inside Story, but when I made it to the battle with Bowser, he defeated me and I never returned again.
If I remember correctly, it seems like I couldn’t stock up on more energy replenishing items before returning to fight Bowser again. Like, either the game didn’t allow me to go back to a shop, or the shop was too far back to go. I don’t normally quit and never return. But Bowser really ticked me off. It felt impossible to beat him. I used up every single health item during battle and still lost. The only other game I can think of where I never returned was Resident Evil Revelations. That last boss was a bi**h.
Ironic a rumor once said that nearly half the handheld Nintendo IPs will get a new game on console and lord and behold Pokemon Mystery Dungoun finally gets a new game on Switch. So maybe we might get M&L on Switch as well.
