After finding out his daughter struggled to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild due to dexterity issues, a father decided to create a custom version of the Xbox Adaptive Controller for Nintendo Switch. This was accomplished using Microsoft’s controller and a variety of different parts from eBay. You can check out the final product – along with the daughter’s priceless reaction – in the embedded video below:
Finished! Ava gives my homemade #accessibility controller V1.0 the thumbs up. She can play @Nintendo #BreathoftheWild on her #switch like her friends now. All thanks to @Microsoft 🙌 #adaptiveController #XAC @brycej @ArranDyslexia @shanselman pic.twitter.com/dOhGnUFZa0

Great father indeed. Hearthwarming!
The one good Xbox product that Microsoft has made in Idk how long. I’m really surprised Nintendo hasn’t had a shot at making their version. Well… Actually I’m not surprised. That would involve Nintendo having to make all control inputs via buttons versus gyro, touch, sensor, etc. But hey… That didn’t stop this industrious father.
I read this, it even made bbc news. Another quality Nintendo/Microsoft collaboration.
Because that’s what heroes do.
Mmm thats what fathers do.
Could you sound any less like a creep
I was playing with my dog’s 9-inch hard red taffy when I read this!
NICE!
You win this round Pinwheel…
