Doom Eternal game director Hugo Martin discussed the game competing with Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are releasing on the same day, March 20th. So, Game Informer asked Doom Eternal game director Hugo Martin how he feels about the game competing with Nintendo’s next Animal Crossing game. Martin said that “I think it’s awesome and it speaks to the amazing diversity that we see in games today. I honestly root for other games and other studios. I’m so proud to work in the game industry and the fact that two games that are so completely different, getting a ton of press, come out on the same day. It’s an incredible time to be in development and I’m excited to play Animal Crossing.”

Different types of games doesn’t make conflict. AC is more a peaceful game. DooM Eternal is a fps game. I don’t see the problem.

    1. Time and money I guess. Someone have only time for one game, or not enough for both. But I agree. There aren’t probably that many overlapsing customers in those two segments.

  2. I will get both games, but I know ac will be more value for money and will last a lot longer so if I could only afford one, ac would be my choice for longevity.

  3. What happened to those times when developers would diss the competition and claim to intend to make the players their bitch?

    1. There’s literally no competition to be had considering these are two different genres, companies that do that are so childish, if you have to diss another brand to make your brand look good it makes the company seem desperate, I will never understand why certain companies do this it’s a total turn off for me
