Minecraft sales over 200 million, 126 million people playing monthly

Microsoft and Mojang Studios are celebrating this afternoon after they announced that sales of the iconic game Minecraft are now over 200 million. The company also revealed that there are 126 million people playing the creative video game on a monthly basis which is also staggering. The news comes as Mojang Studios celebrates 11 years since the first Minecraft alpha build was originally released.

  1. This is why we need Steve/Alex in Smash. Minecraft is the best selling game ever with a huge range of ages that play it and it would add to the list of characters that my cousins will recognise (currently consists of most Mario characters, Pikachu, Charizard and Sonic. Also they asked why Link wasn’t called Zelda).

I am hopeful since there aren’t any Minecraft spirits. When Three Houses released, they didn’t add any spirits from the game which made me suspicious and I was proven right later on.

  2. Really wish the best-selling game of all time with its own slew of built-in 3rd party markets would iron out its cross-platform bugs.

Really sick of launching Minecraft only to have my skin not ever load and constantly have the game forget I DO have the game hooked up to a Microsoft account.
