SEGA reveals Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX

Update: Confirmed for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation consoles

In a surprise move SEGA has announced that the classic SEGA Master System title Alex Kidd in Miracle World will be receiving a remake. It’s being developed by Merge Games and Jankenteam and is set to feature new levels, modes, and alternative boss battles. Platforms don’t appear to have been announced just yet, but many will be crossing their fingers for a Nintendo Switch release.

  1. It seems like SEGA really outdone themselves so far. They are really restoring some of there IPs and SEGA classic franchises. Lets hope that SEGA get a chance to do a Jet Set Radio game and Crazy Taxi as a new game or a remake.

  2. As much as I want to restore the Sonic franchise MYSELF, it’s nice to see an old SEGA IP see the light of day.

Now if only we can get an actual port of NiGHTS into Dreams/Christmas NiGHTS on the Switch (a Nintendo console).

      1. Since 2015 and during this COVID-19 lockdown BS, I’ve been planning out several new Sonic games, as well as revising many old ones after Sonic Adventure 2.

With that said, if Sonic is to be put on hold before that (or anything else with the franchise) can happen, than at least other mascot IPs that SEGA kept dormant for years can be in the spotlight for once, rather than a void in the form of a smartphone game, an edgy realistic game (similar to Bayonetta, Assassin’s Creed, or Call of Duty), dank memes again, or just pure radio silence.
