The latest UK physical software charts are now available and Paper Mario: The Origami King for the Nintendo Switch had a decent launch and arrived at No.2 this week. It was nabbed to the post by Ghosts of Tsushima for Sony’s PlayStation 4. Paper Mario: The Origami King sales were bigger than the last two Paper Mario games combined. Paper Mario: The Origami King is now the fastest-selling Paper Mario game so far. Here’s this week’s charts:
Ghosts of Tsushima’s launch sales were four times bigger than the other new game in the charts — Paper Mario: The Origami King for Nintendo Switch. The comedy adventure game still reached No.2, and its first week sales are bigger than the launch of the last two Paper Mario games combined (2016’s Paper Mario: Color Splash on Wii U and 2012’s Paper Mario: Sticker Star on 3DS). In fact, its first week sales narrowly beat 2007’s Super Paper Mario, making this new game the fastest-selling Paper Mario so far. In addition, download sales are not included (Super Paper Mario was not available digitally) and therefore the Switch game is likely to have been comfortably bigger than its Wii predecessor.

I am loving Paper Mario so far
It’s not bad. I was hoping for more RPG elements, even with the lack of XP. Comedy Adventure really is the best word for the game, and it succeeds in that capacity.
I feel like I’m closed to the first boss. I’m kinda tired of battles already. Way too repetitive. I almost wonder if they would have been fine streamlining it and just have Mario auto attack after you solve the wheel puzzle.
Anyways, I detoured back to Toad Town and tried the battle tester machine where you do more wheel puzzles and they seemed a little more complicated that what I’ve seen so far. I guess it’ll all depend on the frequency and challenged of these wheel puzzle fights.
Pretty charming otherwise. Feels like there’s a load of Toads to find.
