A Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase has been announced for July 20th at 10am Eastern

It’s not the Direct announcement that people expected, but Nintendo has announced the first “Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase”. This series of presentations will be “focused on titles from our development & publishing partners”. For the first part, Nintendo says on Twitter that they will be sharing “we’ll share a few updates on a small group of previously-announced Switch games” on July 20th at 10am Eastern time, or 3pm in the UK. The Japanese tweet of the presentation says that it will be around 10 minutes in length. You can see Nintendo of America’s tweet down below.

  1. Wow….that does nothing to convince me they’ll have anything else to show for the remainder of 2020.

    1. They probably want to showcase titles anyway. I know the outbreak is still ongoing but Nintendo is doing something crazy for the announcements after they said the game development is going smoothly you said.

    2. Have to agree with this like what’s going on, everyone has been waiting for a normal direct for so long, and Nintendo has been egging the development is smooth point a couple of times, if its so smooth why hasn’t there been decent amount of first party titles
releases for 2020 the last one we got was orgami king and that was reveal way back in may, we are approaching fall and it seems like they only been releasing one brand new first party game for each season

      1. They probably believe that Nintendo first party games is still in development and they want to make sure that there fans have something to play with during the outbreak. I know they won’t show much of first party titles for the mini direct that we all are expecting, but we can still see what the other develop company got for us instead.

      2. Exactly, their radio silence has been a thing since before the virus even began, and we’re nearing 11 months without a proper Direct. I have a feeling the current Nintendo president put too many of his cards into making mobile games and now he’s panicking after Switches starting selling like hot cakes in March.

Probably they have scheduled the development of games for both mobile and Switch. Then the pandemic started to spread and this made many changes.

I believe in an old article they specifically said that the team behind the mobile games had to change the development schedule.

          This year isn’t that great.

          1. Yeah honestly that sounds more believable. It’d be nice for the company to have a little transparency and not just say “things are going along great, nothing to worry about”. If they say that people are going to expect something.

    3. 𝑵𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒐 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓

At this point I believe they’ll show something on September or October.

But still this is a little strange.

  2. I would say something like the previous comments have mentioned but I don’t really believe them….

I would say something opposing the comments I saw above but I almost believe them…..

    Predicament….

Nha I don’t believe they”l show only updates for existing games.

  4. Metroid Prime 4: Federation Force 2!

There, now that I got that off my chest. Sorry, by the way.
I’d like to point out that Metroid Prime 4 IS a game being worked on by “our development & publishing partners.”

  5. Xbox has not shown their lineup fully. Nintendo cannot show their hand until the see what both Sony and Xbox have to offer for the launch of the PS5 and Xbox series X. How are people missing such a simple concept?

    F=MA.

  6. No no no, Nintendo, we already know plenty about what other groups and your partners are doing- we want to know what YOU’RE doing. Beyond Origami King, the only other in-house game you’ve told us about is BotW 2 and we have no release information on it; hell, we have no info on it *at all*.

Then there are the rumors about a Super Mario 35th Anniversary thing thanks to a secret Twitter account being found, and very recently an F-Zero account was found as well and I need to know what that’s all about because if there’s finally a new F-Zero game on the way…

This silence is hurting far, far more than it’s helping.

  7. I’m okay with this. I can use a break from Smash announcements. Even if they announce the next fighter, I’ve noticed a pattern in Smash ultimate DLC: A trend breaker that doesn’t deserve to be playable (Piranha Plant, Banjo & Kazooie, and Min Min), a character from a lesser company that contributes nothing to Smash (Joker and Terry), and a swordfighter that is actually worth buying (Hero and Byleth).

  8. Hmmm, this doesn’t sound too good but I’m hoping they’re trying to fake us out. If you look at all of their remakes in the past they were all handled by 3rd party. Even though my expectations are low I’d be thrilled if we get Mario collection , Metroid prime trilogy, or maybe another Zelda remake. Admittedly, even though I’d be pumped to have all those it still wouldn’t be a good look for Nintendo releasing multiple remakes this year.

  9. For the first time in my life, I want the PS5 and Series X to kick out the Switch in sales. It’s the only thing left for Nintendo to actually get off their ass and makes some damn games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
