Phil Spencer says Xbox Game Pass most likely won’t appear on other consoles

There were rumours a while back that Xbox Game Pass could come to the Nintendo Switch along with Project xCloud. However, the rumours have been shot down today by Xbox head, Phil Spencer. Spencer said that with competition platforms, like the Switch and the upcoming PlayStation 5, the company can’t bring the “full Xbox experience on those platforms.” He went on to say that “The other competitive platforms really aren’t interested in having a full Xbox experience on their hardware.”

“The thing about other gaming console platforms is we’re not able to bring a full Xbox experience on those platforms.”

“The other competitive platforms really aren’t interested in having a full Xbox experience on their hardware. But for us, we want to be where gamers want to be and that’s the path that we’re on.”

I think he is right. It’s their service that works on their console.

It’s like someone asking the NES and SNES app from the Switch to the Xbox. This not gonna happen and I’m not mad about this choice from the Xbox leader.

    1. How amazing would that be though? If Microsoft did a trade. Xcloud on Switch, and the Nintendo Emulators on Xbox. I’d be so down, even though I won both.

It won’t happen because putting a service from a console to another makes people want to buy one console and that’s it. That’s why every company has their own service to offer.

They can simply port them to the Switch. Like Super Lucky Tale.

        1. Does Rare and Microsoft know how much revenue Banjo-kazooie can bring to the table if they brought it to the Switch? It probably could sell as much as Pokemon Sword and Shield

  2. Yeah, this is a good idea. As much as I love Game Pass, having it on Switch just wouldn’t sit right. I like having my Xbox play Xbox games and my Switch play Switch games.

  3. Competition births creativity. Once in a very long while Phil Spencer has spoken some sense. For Xbox to be even remotely considered as a gaming challenger to the mega giants Nintendo and Sony’s PlayStation, they need to chart their own course and actually make first party games that are enjoyable. I applaud the lad on this one.

    F=MA.

  4. Nintendo first party would be enjoyable if they made games immediately instead of every to 10 years. Example: what is the point of Tropical Freeze back in 2014 and not one developer worked on a sequel but ported the same game from Wii U to Switch?

Yet Yoshi Wooly world didnt get ported because they immediately worked on the Sequel. So Switch got an orginal Yoshi game sequel.

They didnt do nothing after Tropical Freeze debuted though.

Nintendo new slogan should be” We make new games every 8 years”

Wanna bet me A new Starfox game doesnt exist in their R&D after Zero on Wii U?

    1. 5 years ago from the lying Miyomoto
” Pikmin 4 is nearly complete”

Yet Nintendo pays him 6 figures doing no work but every 8 years. Must be nice to receive free money 7 years doing nothing.
