Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan and Overwatch Lead Hero Designer Geoff Goodman both participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread yesterday. One question put to them by a fan was which Overwatch character would you like to see featured in Super Smash Bros Ultimate if you were asked by Nintendo? Mr. Kaplan chose lead mascot Tracer and Mr. Goodman wanted the mighty Doomfist. Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Overwatch are both available now for Nintendo Switch.
“Tracer plz,” was Kaplan’s swift response to the question, choosing the game’s mascot.
Lead Hero Designer Geoff Goodman had another idea. “Doomfist could also work,” he said. “He’s kind of a fighting game hero already! He’s certainly inspired by fighting games.”
I have never seen so many characters in a fighting game in my life. I haven’t even played with every character yet as they still keep coming in.

Doomfist is the most braindead answer. It’s exactly because he’s already looking like a fighting game character that he would not be interesting to bring in Smash Bros.
For an FPS character in Smash I want to see Doom Slayer first.

ugh, no thanks. Tracer and any OW character can go take a seat with the other bottom of the barrel choices like Sora, Fortnite and Goku.
Goku is in Smash twice, Lucario and Erdrick. Lucario is because his VA is Sean Schemmel and Erdrick is because he looks like Goku.
Actually you missed 1 more Goku, *cough* Sonic Super Saiyan like transformation-
And Meg Man and Goku where once voiced by Ian James Corlett.
Paper Mario or Travis Touchdown would instantly make me purchase the season 2 pass. The long arm girl isn’t it. And this “Tracer” is everything that’s wrong with modern entertainment. Hell, I’d take Chase McCain or even Mickey from epic Mickey before trash like “Tracer”. Worse things to ever exist in this genre: Fortnite, and Overwatch.
I like most of the new characters because they got new ways to play and play differently than the original characters so usually the more creative the better but idk lol i wasnt excite about min-min.
I think they dropped the ball not announcing twintelle or master mummy. Hell even if they had announced all characters as different skins would have been better. This character would have benefitted from adding customizations such as different elements and weapons(arms) .
Tracer would be a good fit in the crossover. I don’t mind having her in. Also, i don’t know if Nintendo and Blizzard have a perfect relationship with each other honestly.
