Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World trailer

Studio Artdink have lifted the lid on the upcoming Monster World IV remake which is titled Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World. the game is heading to the Nintendo Switch in early 2021 worldwide. It features a different art style from the original and also contains 3D models. Check it out below.

A Full Remake of Monster World IV for the Modern Day

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a full remake of the 2D side-scrolling action game Monster World IV with full 3D graphics, significantly enhanced visuals, and further refined gameplay. It is not just visual change, as new game modes and other additional elements are planned. It is also the first entry in the series to feature voice-overs. Look forward to hearing what Asha’s voice!

The Original Staff Returns

For this remake, the original staff from Westone Bit Entertainment have reunited under the supervision of Wonder Boy series creator Ryuichi Nishizawa.

  1. They had such momentum with the other two newer releases. What happened to this one? Doesn’t look like nearly the amount of care and quality went into this remake.

  2. What a let down. Looks like a student project. I am very surprised that whoever is in charge would approve this horror for public viewing.

    Dragon’s Trap and Cursed Kingdom looked great, i was hoping Asha would get the same treatment

  4. I don’t understand the logic of calling this game Wonder Boy when you don’t actually play as a boy… Asha is a girl, why not just call this Monster World just like they did with the original version?
