Aonuma teases we will have to wait a bit longer for a look at Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

Nintendo lifted the lid on their big holiday 2020 game this afternoon and it turns out its a new entry in the Warriors series, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for Switch. During the video presentation legendary Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma teased fans by saying we will have to wait a bit longer before more updates are shared on the sequel The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Here’s what Mr. Aonuma said:

“Regarding the [BotW] sequel, in order to make the vast world you enjoyed exploring in the original game even more impressive, the team is working hard on its development, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer before we can provide more updates.”

  1. I doubt that it will come out early next year. They’ll probably save it for the holiday season 2021 when people have already started letting go of their Switch :c

If Covid dies we might see this in early 2022 imo.

  2. with Retro, idea/hardwar limits stalled Metroid 4 devlopment. Switch+ was introduce to accomodate. Metroid 4 dev slowed. pushed 2 years. Switch+ was already in works. BotW 2 planned for holiday 2020 but pushed for Switch+ launch. BotW 2 would be a flagship for Switch+ since Metroid 4 was still <2 years out at time. We be playin BotW 2 end of Q2. and Metroid 4 holiday 2021!
