Rumours of a more powerful revised version of the popular Nintendo Switch system have been circulating online for the last few years, but hopes are that they will announce one sometime early next year. A new report which has gathered steam from Economic Daily News suggests that Nintendo is looking to use a new mini-LED display on the unit to improve the basic display on the original and also increase the battery life of the hybrid system, as they are less intensive than standard LCD screens. Another company which is reportedly going down this route is Apple, who are known for their premium but cost effective product range. As always this is just a rumour and it should be noted that Nintendo hasn’t mentioned a more powerful revised Switch unit for release in 2021.
I hope Switch Pro is an hybrid console.
My uncle works at Nintendo, he told me the Switch Pro is a Tribrid console.
It goes by codename Gemini atm.
Home, Portable and VR?
More details would be appreaciated
@cubits12x
Don’t quote me on this, but my uncle who works at Nintendo says they are making the screen bendable to allow for DS type of build. I almost forgot, the the switch light version of this bendable device goes by Codename Taco
Tribrid? Tv, handheld whats the 3rd thing?
I read this in the internet so it must be true.
*LED, not LCD.
That’s two entirely different types of display. An LCD display is what you would see on a Game & Watch, for example.
Sorry, that is my mistake. My head was all over the place this afternoon. Apologies, I’ve corrected that.
No worries, happens all too easily. :)
You have no clue about technology! Let the big boys explain this: LED and LCD are THE EXACT SAME type of display!!!! Both are LC displays. LED only refers to the backlight. Every LCD nowadays uses LED backlight so every LCD manufactured can be referred to as a LED display. Mini-LED simply means the LEDs are smaller and so the backlight can have a higher resolution. But it’s ALSO a LC display! The other commonly used display technology is called OLED. LED or mini-LED has nothing to do with OLED!
A hybrid of the nintendo DS and Switch aye.
All of DS, 3DS Backward compatible and switch that includes the digitial libraries of NES, GAMEBOY, GBA, Super NES, N64.
One can only dream.
That would be epic but doubful Ill be palying Banjo-kazooie on my Switch Pro.
Mmmm There is are strong possibilities for this but i don’t know if it might include it.
“Another company which is reportedly going down this route is Apple, who are known for their premium but cost effective product range.”
I’m sorry… what?
What, you don’t consider paying 4x-5x as much for the same product but Apple software installed as cost effective?
Cost effective for Apple at least, definitely not for the poor saps that buy their products.
