As the holiday season approaches, Nintendo’s advertising efforts are ramping up trying to gain attention from consumers. Nintendo’s latest batch of adverts star none other than respected American actress, Brie Larson. Brie has made it no secret that she’s an avid Nintendo fan on Twitter by sharing her experience with playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons earlier this year, it was a focal point of her social media interactions and it seems it didn’t go unnoticed by Nintendo. Brie also spoke publicly about her wanting to be cast as Samus Aran in a Metroid movie. You can read more about her thoughts here.

Here’s Brie Larson in Nintendo’s latest advert that shows the actress playing her favourite games; some shorter versions can be found on YouTube too.

  1. “some stress relief in between her busy schedule” Working 5 months of out the year on guaranteed multi-film contract is not stressful or busy. Plus that woman saying she is “going to bring flowers over” can also be code for money for prostitution.

  2. Brie basically is an advocate for women’s rights and speaks out against sexual assault, didn’t clap for Casey Afflect cause he had charges against him when he won. She also calls for more diversity in writer’s rooms and more diversity among the critics or to give critics that aren’t white dudes more attention.

To insecure dudes, speaking out for women’s rights or more diversity is a bad thing.

She dressed up as Zero Suit Samus for Halloween and has spoken about wanting Metroid movie. How is she fake? I’d bet most adults don’t know who the F’ Samus is, and she is cosplaying as her. Please Nintendo, let her be Samus with a solid female director. Gina Prince-Bythewood did The Old guard, or Lana Wachowski, that would be dope.

That’s what she imagines herself to be. That’s not what she is.

” and speaks out against sexual assault”

So does everyone, from every side of every aisle. Find me please the people speaking out in favor of sexual assault. That doesn’t make you a civil rights hero. She’s a celebrity who makes condescending remarks on social media and in interviews. She’s not Rosa Parks.

“didn’t clap for Casey Afflect cause he had charges against him when he won.”

Did someone bring this up? Who are you talking to? I can’t stand Brie Larson, and wasn’t even aware this was a thing that happened.

“She also calls for more diversity in writer’s rooms and more diversity among the critics or to give critics that aren’t white dudes more attention.”

This is exceedingly misleading. What she did was set discriminatory race quotas for people she conducts interviews with. Regardless of intent, this is considered at *absolute best* extremely controversial by every first world nation. You shouldn’t be surprised when you establish rules to enforce racial discrimination, that some people aren’t very big fans.

“To insecure dudes, speaking out for women’s rights or more diversity is a bad thing.”

This, right here, is why you don’t understand why people don’t like her. This is not you standing up for what’s right. This is you being extremely rude and insulting for the benefit of no one but to make you feel good about yourself. It is precisely what Brie Larson does so often in her public relations that makes her a pariah online.

She is not a savior of women or racial minorities. She has done nothing of substance for them, ever. Loudly declaring that sexism is bad, and all your critics must be sexists is not being a civil rights activist, and it is perfectly natural for people to find such constant self-aggrandizer annoying.

Hey everyone, Nazis are bad. See, can’t criticize me now, because that means you must love Nazis.

    2. I support this comment!! ^

I really dislike the general and overall distaste that men have for “feminism” as a whole. I mean, sexism is a thing and feminism works against that. It is important to support our women and their rise to equality.

  3. Only NoA would be dumb enough to use her. They’d probably be dumb enough to hire Anita Sarkeesian & Zoe Quinn, too. If someone told me those 3 were friends, I’d believe it because they are all full of virtue signaling bullshit.
