The latest software and hardware charts are in from Japan and it has been an exciting week for games with the Switch family available and the newly released PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Both of the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft sold out of their allotted shipments and more stock is clearly needed. The best-selling game this week was the latest title in the Call of Duty series Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War from Treyarch. Here’s this week’s best-sellers according to Famitsu:

Seems like Sony and Microsoft are not too bothered about Japan if that is them selling out all their stock with such low numbers. I really expected the Switch to have a bit of a drop this week but to basically sell on par with the PS5 launch is really good. Looks like the impact of these two new consoles will be minimal on the Switch in Japan, even when they restock.

I think that exactly what he means. If thats what Sony and MS sent to Japan for first week sales AND sold out, then Sony and MS aren’t too bothered. You had to imagine that first week sales would be a lot higher.
Sony sold out of PS4’s at launch and there where over 300,000. Though, the more limited release is probably due to a mix of the world wide release over a delayed release in Japan as well as the Virus.
I dont see how. Dont these companies have robots building these consoles now and days? All it takes is what a few humans to just push a button and the robot does all the work. Stay 6 ft alert wear a mask in the warehouse. I think it is just an excuse. iPhones, Jabra 85t, Airpro 2 and other devices can be purchased. Car companies aren’t on a shortage and Toyota sells are up and can still meet demand. Kia sells are up and in their warehouse they can still meet demand of the 2021 Kia Telluride. Robots are doing all the work.
Hmmmm what made the Switch spike up after 3 years and competing with PS5 and Series X?
