  1. Persona 5 Royal better win Best RPG- Atlus somehow made an incredible game even better (aside from the space dungeon). Shame it’s not a contender for GOTY. I don’t care which game wins that; I just want The Last of Us to lose.

      1. No thanks to the timing of release + pandemic kicking off. Hardly deems it worthy of a win, especially if – at least in my case – it doesn’t hold many people’s attention over time. I dropped it this summer for other ventures.

“Family Game” if it HAS to win anything.

  2. Hades is pure quality, this game has taken a while to get noticed. I’d give it goty def.

If your a triple aaa gamer all the way, your missing out on serious quality with the likes of hades.

  3. It saddens me to see Origami King being snubbed from the best original music category and the art direction category.

It takes once glance to notice how beautiful and intricate the world building is. No other game breathes life into arts and crafts as Origami King. As for the music it is hands down the best music in the history of the Paper Mario series, and that’s saying something.

    1. I’d say the only category it has business being in is Innovation of Accessibility. It was kinda crap in every other way.

      1. Fair enough. Although I do think that they should have restricted some of these features when playing on higher difficulties as it makes it easier to cheat.

    2. For part two and the first, I honostly don’t see how innovative or amazing it is other than how good the story is, which frankly a lot of games have good stories or even better

  4. Hades is in half of these and I hope it wins.

It’s beautifully designed, had great art and sound, and is just fun.

It’s kinda like the Celeste of this year, a beautifully designed indie that deserves to be among the best of the year.

  5. I don’t think gaming ever really needed an award show like this, and there’s too much bias every year to take it seriously. Plus, these things are so highly subjective. Also, I have to wonder… how is Miles Morales part of this? It released after the cut off date, otherwise Demon’s Souls surely would’ve been in here too. Eh, not like it matters.

  6. WAIT A MINUTE.

How can Among Us be nominated for Best Multiplayer?? Yeah, it’s uber-popular now but it came out in 2018; how can it be qualified for these awards two years later?

    This is really, reeeeaaaally sus…
