The Nintendo Switch launched back in March 2017 and many of us wouldn’t mind a slightly more powerful bit of kit to deal with the more demanding games frame rates and resolution. Nintendo recently participated in a question and answer session and explained that an enhanced Switch system isn’t coming “anytime soon”. The reason for this is they already have two new special edition consoles for Super Mario and Monster Hunter Rise. That being said, it seems reasonably likely that one will appear sometime later this year.

As much that I’m not getting my hopes up for this, it’s gonna take a little time for Nintendo to finish some adjustments on the new model before they make a announcement for it soon.
I won’t be surprised until we see what we get on the new model. I know it’s just gonna be the same thing with the controllers and stuff but soon, we might get a cool system update sooner or later this year with original and new model.
Soon Nintendo is gonna rule over 2021 for the upcoming games.
I mean, they said basically the same thing about if there’d be a 3DS XL not too long before they announced it, so guess we’ll just have to wait and see if they do the same thing here.
They say that for every console refresh lol they could still announce one for the holidays if they want to. Earlier than that of course not, and that’s wt their getting at.
I think nintendo has a different meaning of the word “soon” than we do. I kind of think in terms of hardware, Soon means anytime within the next 12 months. For software I think more along the lines of 4-5 months
Nah, It’s the opposite because in the past they said soon and then announced hardware only a couple months later
Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Nintendo doesn’t understand that soon can be further than a couple of months when it comes to hardware
The Switch will probably be my last Nintendo console.

I think their next console will probably just be a switch 2. Just upgraded specs. I don’t see why they would try and reinvent something else. If you don’t like the switch and current software then yea I guess I could see it, the switch for me is like a dream since I’m mainly a handheld gamer.
I would like if they went with another Switch again, but I feel like I’m just gonna pass on it for the most part if other things aren’t improved. Switch Online for example, the drift issues, lack of any themes, etc. The portability is one of the best features, but it won’t be enough for me to put up with Nintendo’s decisions next time.
Bizarre attitude when there is actually much less “gimmicky” stuff going on with the Switch. Even for the few things that could be considered gimmicky like Labo or Ring Fit there’s thousands of standard games to play. Your choice though
Of course they’d say that with huge releases coming soon, why would they basically tell people to wait. Didn’t they do this before?
“Soon” as in we have two limited edition consoles coming out in the next two months and we aren’t going to sabotage our sells by saying there is a better version coming later?
Or “soon” as in “We are not given this type of information because we don’t have a high enough security clearance, so we have to wait for more information just like you.”
The fact they mentioned themed Switches coming out to give this question a roundabout no does make one wonder.

I like this analyst strategy of constantly predicting a Switch Pro every couple of months. EVENTUALLY one will happen, and then they can pretend they were right in predicting it, even though they started in 2018.
People need to be patient a little while longer, when it comes to the New Switch, they will come down to that anytime soon… so, be patient a while longer. in time, we’ll get it! :)
