Tails voice actor has retired from Sonic franchise and won’t be in Sonic Prime

Colleen O’Shaughnessey, who is the voice actor behind the adorable Tails in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, has announced that she has also retired from the series and won’t feature in Netflix’s upcoming Sonic Prime franchise. This follows the leaving of Sonic the Hedgehog voice actor Roger Craig Smith and Cindy Robinson, the voice of Amy Rose in the Sonic series. 1. I had to bring the news out to you even so some Sonic voice actors are leaving honestly but, she didn’t mention about the video game series as well that she will continue to do tails in the franchise since the series is at its 30th anniversary this year.

I’m sorry I had to say this but I don’t want to upset everyone around this site.

    1. What are you even talking about lol? Are you one of those people that think every possible decision is motivated by a “political agenda”?

      1. Why would an actress worth millions stoop to voicing a in a straight to vod sonic cartoon? Regardless of how you feel about her on a personal level she’s at least WAY above something like that career wise.

  2. Even if Big the cat and omochao get their voice actors replaced, They will still be some of my least favorite characters. I grow weary of the overuse of classic sonic as well.

  3. Are they retiring on their own or is that just a nice way of saying they got replaced? Hope it isn’t anything shady.

Also it is going to be a Canadian show like the old X-Men cartoon. “Eh Knuckles we got to get those rings eh, Dr. Robotnic is being a hoser.” I know, I’m dumb, couldn’t resist.

    1. I doubt they are retiring unless they are changing professions. VA work does not pay that much where you can just retire when you want.

  4. Okay, when Roger Craig Smith said HE was retiring, I thought it was from his own free will (which I respected) but the fact that EVERYONE is apparently retiring after that announcement, I’m being convinced that they’re being FORCED into retirement, which is NOT COOL!

    1. They’ve been voicing the characters for 10 years I think it’s completely fair for Sonic Team to want a fresh start and voice actors go into the roles knowing that

      1. I can think of SEVERAL voice actors who would disagree with you on that.

Jim Cummings – Voice of Winnie-the-Pooh and Tigger since 1988 [33 years] and Peg Leg Pete since the 1992 [20 years]
Kevin Conroy – Voice of Batman since the 90’s [20-30 years]
Mark Hamill – Voice of Joker since the 90’s [20-30 years]
Mel Blanc – Voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Tweedy etc. from 1937 to 1989 [52 years]
Frank Welker – Voice of Fred Jones since 1969 [52 years] and Scooby-Doo since 2002 [19 years]
Grey DeLisle – Voice of Daphne Blake since 2001 [20 years]
Matthew Lillard – Voice of Shaggy Rogers since 2004 [17 years]

      1. Well dang this could leave a big dent in the upcoming games and the show I don’t know how there going to keep the franchise going they gotta pick this up somehow.

  5. This happened once before when Sonic X went on the air, i guess SEGA is recasting them all again (except Eggman) for the new TV series. Is not the first time this has happened.
