Journalists state Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD are coming to Nintendo Switch this year

Yesterday during the Nintendo Direct presentation it was revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is heading to the Nintendo Switch system in July. Many were left wondering about the two Zelda remasters for the Wii U which were The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Well, two journalists Andy Robinson from Video Games Chronicle and Tom Phillips from Eurogamer, have stated on Twitter that both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD are destined for the Nintendo Switch this year. Presumably they will both be announced in a future Nintendo Direct.

  1. I sort of get the feeling that Nintendo should of done a triple pack with these games alongside skyward sword.
I know there is a bit of work gone into skyward sword for controls, but surely it’ll be an around the £30 mark game on its own.

  2. Honestly, I’m half-expecting that anyways. They probably didn’t want to announce it now as to not drive attention away from Skyward Sword, but I’m definitely expecting Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Switch. Probably announced via a dedicated Zelda 35th Anniversary Direct, maybe even along with new infos on BotW2.

  3. I’ll probably purchase skyward sword used for half off a year or two from now. If they release windwaker and twilight princess separately I’ll do the same for those two as well.

Really think this should have been a trilogy pack. Nintendo greed as always.

  4. Iirc they didn’t mention Zelda 35h anniversary so we can probably assume that they are about to do a dedicated direct for it.
Probably gonna get the “HD Collection” – Wind Waker and Twilight Princess + possibly some news on the AoC expansion pass, some updates on Skyward Sword and maybe even an indie collaboration like with Crypt of the Necrodancer.

  5. I would appreciate the 2 Capcom Zelda “Oracle” games coming, along with a few other portable LoZ outings.

Maybe BotW 2 news around E3 to line it up for holiday release, but that is wishful thinking, we’ll see.

  6. I get that this is good for people who didn’t have a Wii U, and I am happy that so many people will get to play two games that they haven’t been able to in years once more, but as someone who DID buy these two already on the Wii U, I can’t help but feel a bit…cheated, I guess? :/

  7. At this point, I really wouldn’t put it past Nintendo to charge $60 for each of these games individually. Go ahead and kick the Wii U owners while they’re down, again. I feel like they’ve become very anti-consumer after Iwata passed and Reggie left. :(
