Forest of Illusion has acquired a near final build of Rare’s unreleased Dinosaur Planet for the Nintendo 64 system and released it for everyone to play. As many of you will know the project was reimagined late in development and then released as Star Fox Adventures for the GameCube on 22nd September 2002
Miyamoto and Nintendo reviewed footage of the game, Shiggy mentioned the main character looked a lot like Fox McCloud, and the game was promptly reworked under using the Star Fox license, and released for the GameCube.

This build of Dinosaur Planet is the version that’s set just before the switch to the GameCube as it stars Fox in the game as the main protagonist. It is fantastic news that PC owners can play the original Dinosaur Planet game before it eventually became Star Fox Adventures. Check out some screens below:
I winder if the Switch to star fox happened early on, because this is literally just Adventures but on the 64.
Well, not really, since he wasn’t in the E3 build, but the game is still closer to what the final release was than speculated. People kept thinking it was drastically change, where the majn difference is just that you play as Fox in stages you switched to krystal in the original.
Actually, there was another furry character who acted as the main protagonist. Or so I have heard.
This is really cool!
*GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASP*
Has the N64 version of Resident Evil 0 ever been leaked?
Link doesn’t work.
https://archive.org/details/dino_20210220 Should work as well, Forest of Illusion posted there as well.
Link is not in the game.
I want star fox 64 ported to Nintendo switch.

Thanks!
Wow this is big.
This came out of nowhere for me at least. I would rally like a sequal to Star Fox Adventure. Been wanting that for years!
I love Adventures but I do wish it kept Krystal as the hero/protag of the game. It still should have been a Star Fox game but as a spinoff instead of a mainline entry. Andross as the final boss is still disappointing to this day. Oh well.
Since it is what it is, I’d love a sequel, too, but as more of a side game with Krystal & her staff. She’d obviously still be part of the Star Fox team. Adventures should be to Krystal what Mansion is to Luigi.
