Pokémon Unite beta gameplay footage removed from YouTube due to violation of rules

The regional beta testing for the upcoming title Pokémon Unite has started in Canada and video footage has cropped up on YouTube already. Pokémon Unite was met with a lukewarm reception when it was revealed in the Pokémon Presents video presentation last summer; it’s a free-to-play, multiplayer online battle arena video game developed by TiMi Studios and published by The Pokémon Company for Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch.

Some beta testers are having their footage removed from YouTube soon after it’s uploaded and this is down to a violation of rules which clearly state “capture or streaming of gameplay is not allowed during the regional beta test.”

As Twitter account @CentroLeaks pointed out yesterday, there’s a few screen grabs that show us how the game will make money with a Battle Pass as well as some gameplay footage that, at the time of writing, has not been taken down:

  1. Well serves those impatient idiots right. I’m glad they’re taking action on pre-release recordings. So greedy just to be “first” for views or to make a quick buck.

    1. Or, maybe, people just want to see more gameplay in general? I remember when Smash 4 was still in development and I latched on to whatever bit of gameplay I could find

Not buying that game. It is more disappointing than having Avery, Gordie, Allister and Hop as characters on Nintendo switch pokemon games.
