Team17 has announced that Worms Rumble will be making its way to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X at some point later this year. The title is already available on Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 as it released on those platforms last year, but Team17 – the team who has developed and published the title – says that it will be able to share more news about its release on Switch soon.
The spin-off title sees 32 players battle it out for the last Worm standing. Here’s a quick overview of the game:
Welcome to Worms Rumble, the first ever Worms game to feature real-time combat! Dive into epic 32-player Battle Royale and Deathmatch modes with full multi-platform cross-play as you fight to be the last worm standing!
Worms Rumble will be fully-supported by ongoing content updates including new arenas, customisations, game modes and more…
Arm Worms with new and returning fan-favourite weapons, including the Bazooka, Holy Hand Grenade, Hand Cannon and Baseball Bat!
And here’s a trailer of the game in action:
Make a proper Worms game and I’ll buy it. Not interested in this trash.
I’m in the opposite boat. This looks REFRESHING to me. I loved playing Worms… in the 1990’s. It was a great game. I’m glad people still like the classic style gameplay that’s been around for 30 years.
But this little title, while not a AAA title, looks to be a few new way to battle in the Worms universe.
It hurt me reading “30 years”. The 90s don’t feel so long ago to me :(
It looks like some generic mobile game that uses the Worms licence to sell more copies. And mark my words: THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT IT’S GOING TO BE!
Worms W.M.D. is perfect on switch!
