Sony’s PlayStation 2 console had some absolute gems for RPG fans ranging from the mighty Final Fantasy series to the Kingdom Hearts games. IGN have taken on the giant task of ranking the best RPG’s on the popular system which launched back in the year 2000. Thankfully a number of the RPGs are available on other consoles now, including a number of Final Fantasy games on the eShop. Here’s the RPG’s that IGN believes are the best on PS2.

Totally agree with Final Fantasy XII. That game was ahead of its time. I didn’t even fully appreciate it until years later.
Xenosaga 3 is the best ps2 RPG
No Legend of Legaia 2, Suikoden 5, or Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. Yes to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts but you totally skipped over Monster Hunter, Legacy of Kain, and Bloodrayne as well. Such a sad list. Hell even Devil May Cry should have been on here.
Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry are RPGs? Keep in mind this is an RPG list, not a general games list.
