Bandai Namco got involved with New Pokémon Snap development because of Pokkén Tournament

Bandai Namco are the main developers of New Pokémon Snap, and thanks to New Pokémon Snap director Haruki Suzaki, we now know why. Suzaki had talked to IGN about it, revealing that it is because of their work on Pokkén Tournament. HAL Laboratory, the developers of the original Pokémon Snap, also got involved with the game’s development.

Suzaki said that “Pokkén Tournament utilized Bandai Namco Studio’s strengths and it made Pokémon appealing in a new way. Because of this, we got another opportunity to do something together again and this led to the development of New Pokémon Snap. We were able to talk with the developers [from the original game] and the project started with the involvement of many people”.

  1. I want to see wt sales of this game are like. We’ll see if the fans are behind this one. Personally, I feel they could have done much more so it’s a no go for me.

      1. I was referring to the game and it’s features in general not bamco and the work they’ve done on the game. Facepalm

Of course I could see how you would be triggered since I didn’t make it clear in the statement. Your fanboy really leaped out on that one though lol

    1. “Personally, I feel they could have done much more so it’s a no go for me.” What do you mean? New pokemon snap looks amazing, lots of pokemon behaviors, plenty areas, gorgeous graphics and animations. And do not forget branching paths, community functions, day/night variants and voice acting. Really, what more does a new Pokemon snap game need to be good?

  2. I’ve never played a Pokémon Snap video game before however I played every other Pokémon game on almost every platform yes there some of haven’t I still play and played a big amount of Pokémon games from red & blue to detective Pikachu on 3DS to nintendo switch Sword and Shield games yes I the diamond and pearl & Arceus all on pre order they will all awesome to play and to have played Pokémon Forever thank you.

  3. I gave up on pokken because that Mewtwo was too difficult. I hated how it locked me out of causal tourneys just because I couldn’t beat it. I’ll never buy a pokemon spin off game ever again if difficult bosses prevent me from accessing a mode I want to play. Mewtwo on pokken is one of those rage inducing bosses on a game that caused me to break my disc in half.

    1. Bro, git gud

But seriously, challenge is what I desire from many games, and I’m sad that there’s so little of it in modern pokemon and even spin offs. Also, Pokken is a fighting game. Mewtwo acts like a skill check for things you’ve learned. Overcoming such obstacles might not be for you, and it’s fine. I enjoy it a lot. But not every spin off will be like this, so maybe you’ll find something nice for yourself.

    2. Mewtwo was easy af to beat, you filthy casual. Go back to
playling games that hold your hand all the way through.
