It wasn’t too long ago that we reported on the YouTube series Nintendo Minute coming to an end, and now the show’s co-creator Krysta Yang has announced her departure from Nintendo of America.
Krysta worked with the company for over 14 years, starting off as a corporate affairs assistant and working her way up to becoming a public relations manager. Her decision to leave doesn’t come with any bad blood, as she refers to her position as a “dream job” and sends nothing but love to her friends and colleagues. Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser, as well as co-host of Nintendo Minute Kit Ellis, responded to the news with heartwarming messages of compassion and appreciation.
What the future holds for Krysta is currently unknown, as she’s unlikely to be retiring at only 37 years of age. Wherever she ends up next though, all of us at MyNintendoNews wish her the absolute best of luck and happiness in her endeavors. You can check out her full statement via Twitter below.
Sad to see her leaving. I do hope for the best for her.
Good for her.She left the worst company in the gaming industry.
Kindly show me the sexual harassment and/or illegal activities Nintendo has under their belts. Because unless you have proof of those, they aren’t the worst company in the industry; especially since we have the Activision/Blizzard kerfuffle going on now and that EA still exists.
Don’t feed the trolls. Just ignore him.
Lol. Nintendo is not immune to harassment. They just bury it. My wife was harassed there and instead of dealing with it, they kept the douchebag separated from his targets and let him clean out his vacation and sick time while he looked for another job. Same for the toxic leadership. They look the other way.
I wish her the best for whatever future she has for her endeavors.
Makes me wonder if they hadn’t decided to end Nintendo Minute, do you think Dark Kit may have been a possibility?
(Obviously no, but is fun to wonder about it)
From all the hatred he seemed to receive, you would think he was already dark kit, lol.
People hated Kit? Why?
Read the comments on their final YouTube video. I read them on many other sites, too. People thought he treated Krista badly, & didn’t like his personality. I thought they were pretty playful together, & liked their banter, but seems I’m in the vast minority, if Twitter & YouTube comments are actually representative of the audience.
Sorry, Krysta*
The opinions of Twitter users really doesn’t count for much.
It’s one of the most toxic social media sites on the internet.
I had no idea she was 37. She’s aged well. I liked Nintendo minute. I hope for the best for her.
Hmmm….Does anyone else suspect something has gone down behind the scenes? All this just seems too close together for my taste.
I believe that she didn’t want to move to Seattle. I don’t blame her or anyone else that didn’t like that they were being forced to move. Just awful.
Yes. They closed the entire Redwood City office and gave them a choice to either take severance or move at their own expense. Don’t be surprised if Kit is gone as well. Both of their roles are posted on the job site.
Good riddance
Makes me so sad to see her leave. I wish her the best of luck, and hope to see her still playing Nintendo.
