The latest UK boxed video game software charts have come through for the week ending 26th March and there’s a new No.1 this week which is Kirby and the Forgotten Land for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. The latest Kirby game has had the franchises biggest launch yet and the game is already the fifth best-selling Kirby game thus far. Kirby and the Forgotten Land has shifted 2.5 times the number of copies in its first week than the last game which was Kirby Star Allies, also on Nintendo Switch. Rune Factory 5 has also entered the charts this week the game has sold 80 percent more copies than the previous Rune Factory game during its first week. But it should be selling better than zelda: breath of the wild and mario odyssey, c’mon guys it’s sakurai’s character let’s make it into a multi million seller.
It’s a great game, but it doesn’t have anywhere near the near universal appeal of Zelda and especially Mario.
They’ve always been the bigger franchises.
I know Kirby is a C-lister in the eyes of almost everyone.
