Devolver reveals Plucky Squire for Switch from ex Pokemon art designer

The biggest highlight from last night’s Devolver Digital presentation was the announcement of The Plucky Squire which looks set to be an ambitious and innovative 2D and 3D platformer. The game is created by Jonathan Biddle who directed the Ditto games and former Game Freak artist who worked on Pokemon Sword & Shield, James Turner. Their new project under the umbrella of their new studio All Possible Futures features lovely 2D cell-shading combined with 3D playroom environments similar to Pixar’s Toy Story series. You can check out the trailer for the beautiful The Plucky Squire down below.

  1. Now this is one “2D & 3D mix”-style game I can keep my eye on, this looks incredible!
Too bad the Switch version will have likey a visual downgrade of some sort.
