Falcom to announce new remake this year, confirms its president

Noisy Pixel’s Azario Lopez sat down with Nihon Falcom’s president at last week’s Anime Expo to inquire about the company’s plans for the future. When asked about wanting to go back and remaster or remake older games, President Toshihiro Kondo responded:

“It’s a bit tough as a creator not to want to go and maybe touch up these old games and remake them. It is definitely a desire as a creator to do that. Honestly, I can’t talk about the details, but there is a title that we’re working on that could be considered a remake. Expect to hear about this title before the end of this year.”

Kondo has previously mentioned that he’d like to see Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand remade before he retires.

Falcom has already had a busy year so far, with the release of The Legend of Heroes: Tails Through Daybreak and the unveiling of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana’s localization having happened just within this month. October will see Ys X: Nordics get a Western release, and now Falcom fans have another treat in store for them before 2024 comes to an end.

  1. I want to buy these games but I am not going to pay for a PS5 Upgrade.

If I own the PS4 Version, I should not have to pay for a PS5 Version a couple years after the release of the PS4 Version.

Aside from that I am all for more JRPGs.
