A remake of the first Trails game was briefly spotted in today’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. It is titled The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st and was given a release window of 2025. Beyond that, not much else is known, but we’ll keep you informed as more news on it breaks.
While it showed up for a bit in the English versions of the Direct, Japan received a separate reveal trailer that is longer and can be seen below:
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first game in the Trails subseries of games by Nihon Falcom. Set in the country of Liberl, it follows the Bright siblings as they kick off a continent-spanning saga of heroism and political intrigue- held together by classic RPG combat and questing.

Figures they gloss over the biggest reveal in the English direct. NoA hasn’t changed their weird stance on RPG’s.
Actually, this is weird for NOA/NOE considering they are totally cool with JRPGs getting spotlights in directs(at least since the Switch era). This is really bizarre, especially considering that Sizzle reels are foe games that were already announced.
