Ubisoft’s board launching review of company

French company Ubisoft's official logo

Ubisoft is not in a good state right now. They have been dealing with multiple games that have been repeatedly delayed, including some that have been slated to release on the Nintendo Switch. And when games do release, they keep under-performing. The company’s stock has also been gradually falling over the course of the summer. So, it’s not surprising that efforts are underway to turn that around.

It has been confirmed in a Ubisoft financial statement and update that the company’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors will be “launching a review aimed at further improving our execution, notably in this player-centric approach, and accelerating our strategic path towards a higher performing model to the benefit of our stakeholders and shareholders”.

    1. About 90% of businesses successful in the west today are “woke” to some extent, something you have surely noticed, so the whole “go woke, go broke” thing is clearly nonsense. They aren’t actually “woke” obviously, they just do whatever makes money, but generally some advocacy for e.g. feminist, LGBT, and anti-racist causes is a good image and these topics can also make for good media when done correctly. Of course they often mess it up because they don’t actually believe in any of those things, and therefore completely miss the point.

I don’t know what specific “woke” activity you think Ubisoft have done – what I’ve mostly noticed is just a real lack of good or interesting games coming from them. Ubisoft are a bit lacking in sure-fire money makers compared to the other big “AAA” publishers, e.g. EA have their sports games, Activision (though I know they’re owned by Microsoft now) have CoD. Ubisoft have lots of stuff, but not that one thing they can count on.

    2. I laughed so hard when they were showing Yasuke fight and hip-hop infused japanese music started playing.

It did kinda slap though ngl

    3. Exactly!! Marvel saw it. And now Ubisoft is feeling it, if you focus on 1% you only sell 1%. Now there are a lot how don’t care about the woke agenda in media, but it’s still only 4.3% of people in the world he accept the woke bs, 95.7% don’t want that be shoved in our faces. It’s was only 86.2% in 2022. But people don’t want the LGBTQ bullshit in there games and movies. And now even LGBTQ members are done with it.

  1. Maybe they should prioritize making fun games instead of monetization.

Do not be fooled… you are not paying money to play the game early. You are just paying extra money to play on time and everyone else is playing it a few days late.
