Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii has stated in a new livestream that Dragon Quest XII is fully in development at Square Enix and that the team is planning to release information to eager gamers little by little. The JRPG has been a long time coming as it was first announced by the company back in 2021 and has reportedly suffered problems in regards to direction.
Horii comments that the development team is “working hard on Dragon Quest 12” and that he hopes to release new information about the game little by little.
When the NX was announced they later said DQ 11 was coming to it. Now if DQ 12 releases for Switch 2 it will be a similar situation. I hope the development goes well, DQ is a series that inspired many RPGs.

That’s great news! I’ve been a Dragon Quest fan since I was a kid, and I’m really excited to hear that XII is still in development.
