The US video game retailer GameStop has announced its trade in prices for those of you looking to trade-in your original Nintendo Switch to get a brand new Nintendo Switch 2. Obviously the firm is giving the most amount of cash to those who trade-in a Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders begin in the North America 24th April.
• Switch OLED – $175
• Switch V1/V2 – $125
• Switch Lite – $100

So they buffed the prices?!?!?
Only the accessories which is 5 to 10 dollars, the price on switch 2 and the games will stay the same.
That’s nice but I’d rather give it away to a kid in my life for free than sell to gamestop. No shade if you do though.
Expensive garbage overhyped no good games overpriced everything
At launch, game selection is limited of course. Give them some time to expand their library.
Blah blah blah. Ignorance is no excuse for hate.
Whats stupid is as stupid does is TARRIFS. Destruction of the economy by today’s in charge person thingie.
🤣
Boo hoo
Orange man bad, tarrif must be bad (except inflation is down, average gas prices below 3 dollars, China wants to make a deal)
Literally full of shit, braindead mongo
Aw did you hear that from the orange Smurf? In the village they call him Lying Smurf, that’s why they painted him orange.
Inflation isn’t down with are you talking about and gas prices have gone up! Gas prices have nothing to do with tariffs anyway or the president lol. And yes orange isn’t just bad he’s an idiot. The price of everything is already going up. Xbox and PlayStation are raising their prices on new consoles by $100 you MAGAs love to cope so hard because you refuse to see how bad things all going to be and it’s going to be hilarious when you all run back to your little corners with your tails between your legs because you got dipped. And let’s be real you guys all voted for him because you don’t like brown and rainbow people.
👏
Games were already too high in price……
Always the buffer eh?
This is rather old news…I knew this days ago, unless I missed something.
Gamestop announced the trade in values for the Switch consoles after the Direct.
$100 for the Lite is pretty good tbh. 🤔
I think i’ll just keep my Switch it has to much sentimental value to trade it in.
Same here. I have no intention on getting rid of my original Switch.
The trade in for me (V1 Switch) would be lower since it’s cracked in the back, so I would rather give it to a friend after I transfer my data to a Switch 2. It’s been due for a replacement for a while but I’ve been waiting for the next console. Don’t really understand people who will buy several iterations of the same console line and skip out on a backwards compatible successor, but whatever.
Why though the switch 2 will play switch 1 games and you can even use the switch one pro controllers
I’m hanging on to my OG Switch I’ve had since launch. Not even a year ago I had to get the fan replaced which wasn’t the cheapest thing to do, so parting with it so soon after would feel wasteful. Plus, it could see some use in tandem with my future Switch 2 for games that require each player to have their own screen for local multiplayer (certain Clubhouse Games like Last Card and Poker come to mind).
The past eight years with the nintendo system was an ethos built for someone else’s.
Oh wow, so I can trade my still functioning system they’re releasing games on for barely a quarter of the price of the new system!!!! So I still have to shell out exactly the same price for a new Nintendo Switch, but for a Switch 2. God……this Switch 2 thing has been the STUPIDEST console release EVER
How so? This is exactly what Xbox and PlayStation have done as well. Everyone wanted backwards compatibility but now you cry because you have to buy a new system.
It sold out fast so it looks like your opinion isn’t that popular just say you can afford it bro.
I can sell my OLED switch locally for $275 on marketplace and it would be gone in a day or two. GameStop offering $175 and reselling for $320 or $303 for pros. I always put that in my listings as well and the fact I keep all original packaging . I have not traded anything in for years and have had no issue selling myself.
That’s nice, but with the interconnectivity between the consoles I won’t be letting go of mine so quickly. Being able to play certain co-op titles without needing a second switch 2 will be a boon given the cost of Switch 2.
Don’t care for it I’m good on pc later Nintendo not a fan
No they didn’t buffed the prices that’s what tariffs do ppl
For a concert that never went down in value just like Nintendo’s games. The trade-in offers are calling. Should be buffed by like $50.
