Stardew Valley creator doesn’t charge for collaborations, does it to please players

Stardew Valley has been a monumental success for its creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone shifting over 41 million copies. On a post on social network X, Barone revealed that he doesn’t charge money for collaborations between other games as other companies undoubtedly do. Instead, he chooses to collaborate with games which he is a fan of or if they are games he think his player-base would enjoy.

“There have been a few collaborations between Stardew Valley and other games over the years. To be clear, i never receive any money from these collabs. I’ve only done them because I was a fan of the other games, or because I genuinely thought the players would like it.”

  1. That’s love I actually thought about making my own game and if I could do collaborations I would too for free too mostly because I just like gaming that much also it would just be fun to add random characters. I wanted to do a zelda like game with RPG elements where you actually level up like the mana series
