Chris Dring: Ghost of Yotei is the new UK No.1, sold almost 3x what Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 on Switch did

The official UK physical gaming charts have not been fully released yet but journalist Christopher Dring has posted that Ghost of Yotei has entered in at No.1 this week. Sadly, that means that Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 is presumably at No.3 after EA Sports FC 26 at No.2. Dring, who usually reports on UK software sales, says that Ghost of Yotei physical edition sold three times the amount of units as the sublime Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2. The UK is the largest video game market in Europe.

  1. I mean to be honest, considering the price they’re selling it at, a third of completely new game Ghost of Yotei is probably a good outcome for Nintendo.

    1. It’s the UK only add on its her clear reports are being blown out of proportion of Yotei right now journalists are exaggerating the success and sales.

      1. I am from the UK and know the market well. If Ghost is outselling EA FC’s second week (physical only of course) it is doing well. Yes, it is only in UK market but it’s an indication of success.

I don’t really care about the success of Ghost of Yotei – you seem invested but it’s not really what we’re here for. I only really care about Nintendo in this context. A package of consensus overpriced remakes including a game they’ve already sold once on Switch selling a third of an entirely new AAA game (on week 1 in the UK physical sales admittedly, so small data set) is I would say a fine result for them, assuming they didn’t have unrealistic expectations. If they wanted to move big numbers, they surely would have sold at a more competitive price.

  2. I mean I’m not really surprised most switch players already have galaxy 1 on there switch with the other Mario bundle and don’t see it worth the price just to play the second one.

  3. Game sold 40% less than its predecessor. You guys apparently are shilling for it. Sucker Punch and Sony is a terrorist supporting company that supports political murder.

  4. Good for Sucker Punch, I loved Ghost of Tsushima, and I hope to play this one day when I can afford a PS5. Being a Nintendo fan doesn’t make me a morron who rejects other games and consoles.
