The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley has posted that The Game Awards nominations will go live on 17th November, so there’s not long to wait to see which games are up for a variety of categories. The Game Awards nominations will go live at 9am PT / 5pm UK time on Monday. The actual The Game Awards show will kick off on 11th December.

I’m going to guess that Expedition 33 didn’t get a nomination cuz it’s a “problematic” game for the same reasons Black Myth Wukong not getting nominated. Still salty about it.
I’m out of the loop. Why would Expedition 33 get snubbed? I remember Black Myth Wukong was because of a mistranslated interview and the company refusing to respond to journalists on it. I haven’t heard any drama around Expedition 33 except that it’s uh… I guess kinda the same drama Baldur’s Gate 3 got where it was just a great game that made other games look bad.
The whole thing with the interview was purposefully translated incorrectly to make the company look bad all because the game isn’t diverse which it is just not the kind of diversity these activists want. These people who run TGA only want queer representation which IIRC Expedition 33 doesn’t have or has very little plus all the characters are attractive which these activists hate cuz MuH wHiTe SuPrEmEcY. Point is, they hate good games with attractive characters and games that don’t cater to the 1%.
I wouldn’t call C33’s characters “attractive” – the character design is very bland. It reminds me of Bioshock Infinite, which aged pretty badly overall.
That being said, C33 was the most talked game of the year so it is going to be nominated. Will it win? Probably not, considering that, instead of hating on “non-diverse” games, they hate when smaller developers show big developers up. My guess is that either Metal Gear Solid Delta or Yotei (because Sony) is going to win. But C33 will definitely be nominated.
Wukong was CCPP trash, didn’t even deserve to be nominated.
