US: Nearly half of US kids surveyed want in-game currency this Christmas

It seems in-game digital currency for games such as Fortnite, Genshin Impact and Roblox is the most wished for gifts for children this Christmas in the United States. The survey which was carried out by the Entertainment Software Association ESA showed that 43% of kids were hoping for digital currency. Over 700 children were surveyed (ages 5 to 17)

    1. It’s actually not, it’s corporate greed and grooming people into thinking that MTX and “Surprise Mechanics” are good while butchering 80% of a game and selling it back as”extra content”.

        1. More like crony capitalism, which is more like consumerism. Being anti-capitalism is far too extreme for me, it’s like saying you don’t think people should make money and buy things, what? Everything should be free? I’ve just never understood ant-capitalism. But i do agree that this consumer crony bullcrap is killing our world.

        2. The problem is the banks but the last time someone stood up to the banking system they were labeled horrible people and propaganda is still spread about that person and a war was fought to take him down. The Austrian Painter

            1. With Israel doing some shitty things and people online speaking out against it, it gives Neo-Nazis the gall to spout their bullshit like this online. So you’re gonna see comments like this from time to time.

              1. That was a meme that started around 2015 and I think a lot of it was teens doing “haha this is funny edge” humor that was popular at the time, but since then Neo-Nazi groups have been on the rise. The swastika is also no longer considered a hate symbol, and some guy told me this was “things going back to normal”. Strange times we live in.

    2. Don’t worry your friends thr communists of China bankroll these companied and profit from it companies backed by the party such as Tencent who commit horrible acts against groups of people and other nations.

  1. That is depressing. I’m not even one of those people who is completely against free to play games and digital currency, it has its place, but it’s how ubiquitous it is – how so many people now don’t even go any further than that in gaming. There are so many games at $20 or less that would provide so much more value than what $20 of V-bucks can get you.

      1. Kids wanting in game currency upsets you boomers that much? Then again you could be mad that Epic and most these companies are backed by the CCP.

  2. I miss Wii Points.

Actually, I don’t. Even then I thought it was weird.

But I do miss watching Mario run across the screen and eventually hitting those coin blocks.
