SEGA has said in its recent Q3 financial report covering the period from October 2025 to December 2025 that the recently released mobile party game Sonic Rumble and its new releases such as Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch 2 have performed below expectations. The company also said that sales of its older games weren’t as strong as they had hoped for either.
“Collaborative title Sonic Rumble officially launched but struggled as each KPI fell below expectations”
“New titles haven’t met the target KPI”

This is really rough for them on their part.
Isn’t sonic rumble like heavily microtranactions when it comes to skin and stuff.
Yes it is microtransactions.
Go woke go broke
Kind of it’s more so they don’t make what people want but the internal wokeness I think pushed out people like Nagoshi and Yakuza has been getting worse when he was less involved the butchering of Majima and Kiryu in 0 onwards then 8 just seemed weird and bad with Ichiban and then Kiryu randomly having cancer. Sonic was always poorly handled and new people like Ian Flynn don’t fix it with his weird audience, Persona 3 Reload I heard had problems which raise concerns for 4 and 4 will not have the original voice cast also shown no gameplay.
Actually opposite Yakuza Kiwami 3 has a actor playing a villain that has SA allegations on him leading to uproar here in the west.
Could have put Sonic Rumble on Switch and I would have played it.
That won’t change that it’s a flop. Sonic has not been doing so hot. The next movie will be a deciding factor I think on if they want to change things with the franchise. If it flops they probably reassess Sonic and even more so if Sonic Frobtiers 2 flops which seems likely IMO.
Gee, I wonder if it’s because Sonic Rumble is, actually, a poorly-made, microtransactions-heavy Fall Guys copy that no one ever asked for or Persona 3 Reload is a late port that had problems upon release.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 seems to not be doing well either. Persona 4 remake is concerning too; Didn’t Sonic Dash do well or did Sega exaggerate? Frontiers I remember them bragging about sales but I remember it going on discount for $20 less than a week after release.
Sega have utterly devalued the Sonic franchise. Too many releases every year with nothing that sets them apart.
How? Bro they haven’t made a Sonic main game in a while since Frontiers and last release after that was an enhanced rerelease of Generations with expansion, now that bad Sonic Racing game that tanked. I agree quality went down but not because too many releases in the main series it’s bad quality since the late 2000’s when Maekawa left and the unnecessary cart racer if they did remakes I would cop easy but this new stuff has been bad and personally I’d rather they go back to the 2000’s tone of Sonic honestly it would help and nostalgia is there for many bring back the cast from Sonic X, bring back Sonic X or make a new anime, remake Adventure 1, 2, Heroes as well maybe remake Sonic Riders or make a new Sonic Riders game.
Capcom, Square Enix, and Bandai Namco will be next to report low sales.
Investors were promised SF6 would sell 10 million by now still hasn’t, Capcom esports event dropped the PPV prices gevause losers online told them too who are not buying it anyway would have been better keeping it at 50, MH Wilds underperformed, years of flops prior outside RE like Exoprimal, Dead Rising remake, Path Of The Goddess, Dragons Dogma 2 and collections like Marvel the license is not worth it. Square is literally a bomb factory and not improving at all just lies to investors that they are restructuring and have a plan which they don’t also lied about no western games being made by them despite this year their 2 games are a sequel to a flop Life is strange and new IP KillerInn flops incoming add to a long trove of probably 20 flops behind it. Bandai is weird they sold off Elden Ring IP despite hyping it as a multimedia franchise and it being their best selling game I think also abandoned their anime licenses, Harada left same with other Tekken staff implying the franchise is done and Tekken 8 is not doing what they wanted. Bandai pretty much shadowed Sparking Zero and other games then returns to it a year later which is horrible add on flops like Shadow Labyrinth , Code Vein 2 this year and them banking on Dawnwalker. These companies have no one but themselves to blame never getting with the times or listening to common sense stuck listening to woke mentally ill middle aged control freak egotistical narcissistic radical leftists.
They waste their money on fluff pieces and bad influencers like Max Dood someone who doesn’t like their games. They paid him to play Yakuza Ishin he did for like 30 mins, same with Pirate Yakuza which should be on Switch 2 already, Metaphor, and they paid him for Sonic X Shadow Generations something he avoided doing despite labeling the streams for the game he did it with Bleach Rebirth Of Souls also paused the game then talks for a hour or so and I guess contract wise that’s what needs to be filled. They recently wasted money paying him to play Kiwami 3 and he backed out because his woke loser audience demanded he not play it. Outside him they wasted money on multiple streamers for Crossroads. Stop wasting money on these idiot streamers who don’t like the game they honestly in some cases like Max do the opposite turn fans away other companies do it too like Sauare, Bandai, WB, Ubisoft which is bad overall, and Capcom. Weirdly enough when 2K or EA do it it’s whatever that’s on brand for them like getting CashNasty to do a gambling commercial. Ubisoft did it with celebs and it helped dig their grave deeper. These other companies should cut ties with these influencers and media it’s hurting them honestly same with Geoff Keighly shows cost way too much either do a digital show in the summer with numerous games or be part of a State Of Play, Nintendo Direct, or even Xbox 2 hour show over those awful events.
It’s always like this. They really need to lower their expectations.
