Tetsuya Nomura posts new art for Kingdom Hearts 24th anniversary

The revered Tetsuya Nomura has uploaded some new Kingdom Hearts-inspired artwork to celebrate the fact that the beloved series is currently celebrating its 24th anniversary. Nomura published new artwork depicting Xehanort and said in an accompanying message that the team at Square Enix is “working hard towards the 25th anniversary”, which takes place next year. He thanked fans for their long-standing support.

“We are currently working hard towards the 25th anniversary. Thank you for your support.”

    1. They did say it was announced just so people know that it exists, and it’s too early in development. Plus it seems that, between Nomura being burnt out and wanting to retire and Missing Link being cancelled, they’re going at a slow pace and KH4 is going to add the story elements from Missing Link, so don’t expect it until late 2027 at earliest. But, most likely, 2028.
