Reviews for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie have stormed in and it is looking like a movie that has divided critics with a lowly 37/100 on Metacritic based on 35 Critic Reviews and 44% on Rotten Tomatoes with 84 reviews. The animation quality is praised for the movie but the storyline and narrative are described as non existent and empty. There’s plenty of Easter Eggs in it for fans though, so it should be a fun time. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie launches tomorrow 1st April in cinemas worldwide.

This is a repeat of what happened with the first movie! As long as I hear gusty garden galaxy in the background, it will be a 10/10 for me.
It looks like a mix of Odyssey and Galaxy. Honestly did not like the first movie not comimg back for 2 but yeah feels like it will break 1 billion again.

Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t have an opinion, Anon. It’s an aggregate score of all professional reviews, with a second aggregate score for all amateur reviews. It’s just a tool for painting a picture of overall public sentiment of each film.

Not always true. The first movie was trash the writing was bad, voice actors outside Key, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Jack Black were horrible especially Seth Rogen and Peach is a girl boss while Mario is just bad until he isn’t then all of a sudden saves Luigi who’s in Peach’s place of captive. Reminder the writers/directors of the movie and this one too are the creators of Teen Titans GO! Makes sense why it’s bad.
Im gonna be honest, I really dont like movies I always found them to be mostly bloated with clichés to fill whatever run time they have, I haven’t enjoyed a movie since I was 8 I just watch the mario movies for Mario and the characters, I do feel bad for people expecting this movie to have some decent pacing maybe next movie.
I didn’t really like the first movie and felt like they could’ve done a lot better. My main gripe was that a bunch of stuff like the karts were shoehorned in the movie just to advertise attractions at the Universal park, and apparently Galaxy is doubling down on the references. The first movie actually deserved its rating imo, and I can’t speak for the second but I don’t really have a desire to see it since the issues I had with the first have just been made worse by what everyone else is saying.

As someone, who grew up and loved Nintendo for a long time, this is not surprising me. They do the same misrake as in the first movie. No story, a lot of cameos and dumb humor, ss if people are unsble to write good movies anymore. Slowly but surely the first Mario movie looks better than these two movies, hell… even the japanese animation that came earlier than Hollywood. But once again, people simply turn into zombies and only see the funny colors instead the slop. No surprise there.

I remember that the mario movie got a really high audience score, but a low critic score. It’s probally going to be the same here. I am going to try to avoid going on this website for spoilers because I don’t see the movie until later tomorrow. But I am so excited, These movies are just fun to watch.

The Mario Bros movie is fun. It’s not a great movie. It’s arguably not a good movie. But it is fun and a mostly faithful adaptation of the IP. This looks like the same situation. The reality is Illumination doesn’t even know how to make great movies. shrugs
