The Legend of Zelda Movie is filming at a key location from Lord of the Rings trilogy

It has been discovered that The Legend of Zelda Movie is being shot at a key location used by the excellent The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Production for the live-action movie has been spotted in Otago, including the small town of Glenorchy, which was used heavily in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. We previously knew that the film was being shot in New Zealand, but we didn’t have a firm location. As others have pointed out, it obviously suggests that Nintendo is billing the movie as an epic fantasy adventure, rather than another video game movie. The release date for The Legend of Zelda Movie is currently penciled in for May 2027.

  1. I read this as “Zelda Movie filming as a trilogy” and nearly fainted

Regardless, fantastic news, seems we’re in for a visual treat. Can’t wait to hear the music especially

    1. Do you have any idea what that would cost? The taxes alone in that country, and the Peahat insurance…uff.

      1. I bet the taxes would still be better than here in the ‘taxed to death uk’ and you could always go hunting for some rupees behind bushes etc for some extra bunse

    2. Imagine filming during the day and a Peahat awakens. And don’t say “they could film it at night”, because, then, the Stalchildren become the problem.

  2. Return of the king is one of my favorite films of all time. I am happy seeing the zelda movie being filmed in the same area. I have no idea if it will be good or not, but I have hope because they didn’t make tom holland link.
