Hyrule Warriors Still Coming This Summer To Japan, Plus There Could Be Another Collaboration

Game Watch Impress is reporting that Zelda Musou/Hyrule Warriors is still on track for a summer release on Wii U in Japan. KOEI-Tecmo’s CEO Erikawa has also mentioned in the same article that there will be another new large-scale collaboration coming in the latter half of the fiscal year. Sadly Erikawa wouldn’t give any hints as to what this new collaboration might be.

Thanks, lizalfos

  1. Hmm japan is prob where it will do best for sure…I’m at a lost as far as the other project goes, this one blew me away as far as surprises go.

    1. Well Zelda sells much better in the west than the east, but Dynasty Warriors is the other way around, so I don’t think it’ll be extraordinarily different in either demographic. They’ve been very clever in having Tecmo publish it in Japan and Nintendo everywhere else. I think in Japan they’ll market it as DYNASTY WARRIORS: with Zelda whereas in the west it’ll be ZELDA: Dynasty Warriors, kind of thing.

Tecmo making Star Fox is better than no one making Star Fox. Though I agree I would rather see a company like Platinum or even a Ubisoft collaboration would work, because despite what people say about Ubi, they make some fine-ass games. Or why not give it to Nintendo owned divisions that have never worked on the series like Monolith Soft or even Nintendo EAD Tokyo, because they can do some masterful work, both of them.

        1. I’d prefer no game than a bad game. Not that Tecmo would necessarily make it bad, but I wouldn’t have a great deal of faith. But yeah any of those other developers. Even Sega or Capcom could be decent.

Monolith Soft is perfect doing what they do best: 1st party JRPG games for Nintendo. They should stick with that since Nintendo doesn’t have many 1st party JRPGs to their name. I’d rather see what Retro Studios can do with Star Fox.

I hope the train never stopps and goes faster and gets bigger ;-)

hmmm i live in switzerland not in japan.
do somebody know how the game looks now?
then the first clip from a few month ago, dosent look to good.
tecmo has said (and nintendo also), that the u is not made for a concept like that (to weak to bring x figures active in a game).
im not a graphic slut, but the first trailer looks just like a wii game or even less than that.

    1. We haven’t seen anything recent, no. It’s a bit weird, we just get one surprise trailer which gives almost no information (not even the name and looks fairly early in development, and then nothing and suddenly we find out it’s released in probably 2 months. Very mysterious.
The Wii U is definitely powerful enough to handle the workload and still look decent. The PS3 did it and the Wii U is at least as powerful as that. Hopefully it looked bad because it was early in development and not because they had a tiny budget or something.

      1. I guess it’s a good thing you’re a nobody. If that’s the best thing you could come up with then I feel sorry for you

Just because you didn’t like the Warriors series doesn’t mean it “sucks” or “pointless”, you might as well call all games with attacking things pointless if you think that way.

      1. I mean’t more as a “Zelda” title. I guess this is more for the Warriors fans? As a Zelda fan I couldn’t care less about this. I’m not trying to belittle the Warriors series or anything, this is just IMO.

        1. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

IDK, maybe it could be more for the warrior fans, but it also was made to appeal to Zelda fan, but like always, its not everyone’s cup of tea, especially when its trying something new or whatever you could consider this one, but I think it’ll be great because Aronuma is director and nothing lower, so he seems to have control over the project. So I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss it.

        2. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

I personally can’t wait for this game. I’ve always wanted to use Link in a fast paced action game like Warriors ever since I got into the Warriors series with Samurai Warriors: Chronicles. And the good thing is: it doesn’t change the main Zelda series in a drastic way.

  7. Man. I don’t even have a Wii U (yet) and I’m hyped. After being PS3 for years and then Vita, bought a Black Friday 3DS, and my goodness!! I have been missing OUT. I am yearning for a MarioKart bundle… Downloaded the Mario Golf demo. Is the rest of the game as good and addictive as this? Or should I put my somewhat limited funds to the Wii U in some form?

    1. well the rest of the game has online and tournaments online and a deep single player thing too so if you like golf…yeah!
and yes you have been missing out, make sure u get fire emblem awakening and kid Icarus uprsing for 3ds and with wii u’s free game to be pikmin 3……possibly.

      1. Never was a golf fan, but I so want it. But that MK bundle is calling me. And a free game on top. I certainly don’t lose out. Did the registration to get Pokemon and ACNL, and could not believe how much time I end up in those worlds…..I read that AC is like crack, I know what they mean now.

    1. ill reply to you, man, i dont know why you are here or what you want, but please, just get out of here,no more.

  10. If your going to bring out a Zelda game bring out a real one. I won’t buy some versus game that means I have to wait longer for a real Zelda game! Who are they trying to fool. What does a cheap vs game cost half the price to produce or something? I don’t see why they would even bother.

    1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

This game isn’t effecting Zelda for Wii U’s production. Tecmo Koei is doing all the leg work with Aonuma as more of an advisor. He doesn’t have to be there to see the work as a simple internet video feed would suffice.
