Nintendo of Japan has added both July and August’s games line-up for the 3DS free software campaign which runs until September. In April, the Kyoto-based company launched a promotion for potential 3DS XL consumers, where they can choose one of a monthly selection of popular 3DS games for free. However, consumers can only choose one free title with a purchase of a new 3DS XL. Previous months have included Pokemon X and Y, as well as Puzzles and Dragons Z.
July and August’s software are now available to view at Nintendo Japan’s official site. Below you can find a list of all the games featured in the promotion for the next two months. With such a sneak peek at what games will be offered, choosing a title couldn’t be easier this time around.

I see you added me in your video. Congratulations. Now let me tell you something. I am not the biggest Nintendo fan here. Just ask some of the people here. Sometimes I even write full on freaking paragraphs about stuff Nintendo does wrong. But that doesn’t mean I necessarily hate them. I just hate what they do sometimes. I don’t know why you keep trying to bash on the Wii U. Maybe you get enjoyment out of it. I don’t know. You claim Nintendo has kiddy games and a horrible console, but why do you have one? Because you and me both know that you would have been able to sell it by now and get a 360 instead. You can’t call me a drone either. I plan on buying either a PS4 or a gaming PC in the near future. Anyway, some of the stuff you said… Achievements… I saw them on Xbox 360 when I played my games. Not once have I ever cared about it. What does it add to the game besides rewarding you absolutely nothing for doing something you were planning on doing in the first place? And most of the games you complain about not being on the Wii U are mainly shooters. This leads to me to the fact that you have absolutely no idea of what a good system seller is. Why would I buy a PS4 for Battlefield Hardline? I’d probably buy ANYTHING else on the PS4 before I get that game. And you don’t seem to understand what an exclusive is. PS4 has Uncharted, LBP3, The Order 1886, Infamous, Killzone, etc. None of those are system sellers. And if you think they are, you must have been dropped on your head as a kid. The exact same experience from almost every game I just listed can be found on PS3. These games are nothing special. I’m not bashing the PS4 to be honest, it’s just the fact that you keep bashing Nintendo’s games and claiming they are trash compared to these. That’s just your opinion. Oh, and get this. Back in March I had over $200 and I could’ve chosen between 4 things. A PS3, XBOX 360, PS VITA, or 3DS XL. You know what I went with? A 3DS XL. SUCK ON THAT. :P

A free game is a free game. And some of these games are pretty fun.
How did the current definition of “hardcore” gamer/games come to be? It seems to mean “realistic and violent”. Not to mention aall this talk of mature gamers. The definition of maturity can’t be found on the back of a video game box. Sure being a mature person or gamer doesn’t equate to how bloodthirsty you are…but that’s a litlr besides the point.
From a gameplay perspective it seems as if Nintendo owns plenty of hardcore franchises (eg fire emblem, donkey Kong etc) as well as 2nd/3rd party UPs on their platforms (shin megami tensei etc). Wii era sidestepped this a bit in favor of casual games no doubt. But even the last couple years, new Nintendo franchises such as Wonderful 101, bayonetta, and xenoblade go well beyond the difficulty and depth of most contemporaries, albeit not necessarily in the competetive sense. When I think hardcore gamer I THINK of those guy doing the serious time and effort to speed run Mario games.
I like games like Gta 5 as much as the next guy. But they do come off as a bit more on the casual side. Sales, accessability, and easy controls (see assassin’s creed) suggests broad appeal and casual programming. So how does Nintendo have a non-hardcore, childish reputation. A game can be difficult but because there’s no blood people are too mature to play them and it’s no longer hardcore? For some reason it’s this strange outlook seemingly exclusive to video games. Surely the Simpson’s isn’t only for kids because it’s a cartoon?
That idiotic definition came to be when the Xbots first joined this universe…
I like fictional games better. It gives developers unlimited possibilities. In reality gaming you usually have to obey the law of nature . After all on COD Ghost, at the begining, you needed a space suit, Mario doesn’t in Galaxy.
