Sega Won’t Have Its Own Booth At E3 Next Month

Sega fans will be slightly disappointed to learn that the publisher and developer won’t have its own E3 booth this year. We already know that they’ve scaled back on producing games for consoles and are focussing on tablet, smartphone, and online PC titles. However, Sega will be teaming up with its partners so it is reasonably likely that you’ll see Sega titles at Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo’s booths.

“Over the next months, SEGA of America will be focusing on the restructure and relocation to Southern California, and we have decided to not attend E3 with our own booth this year,” a representative told us via email. “With the majority of our bigger titles launching later in 2015/2016, particularly those from our AAA studios Relic Entertainment, Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly, we are concentrating our efforts for some of these major announcements after our relocation. Instead, we will be collaborating with our various business partners for this year’s E3 show.”

    1. Seriously! And even I agree that Nintendo Minute should be renamed: F&FF minute.

I mean it only make sense. Screw a Kit and Krysta or whatever their names are. Call it like it is, Fag and FlatFace minute.

Very good video reply there. I totally agree.

        1. I have no idea, what the flying fuc* he’s talking about either (nor that random vid).

          Ugh!
Gat damn comments get stupider every time I come here.

  1. The only Sega games that I have really ever played are Sonic. After playing Sonic Racing Transformed, I’m interested in their other franchises and I’d love to see some new games!

    1. I love SASRT. I would almost say it’s better than MK8 in terms of the feel of racing and drifting, but I guess they’re different. I think SUMO was a big reason for the way it turned out.

    2. Like Sonic Boom, R and 2006? Not me. lol What the fans really wanted and begged for is the real Adventure 3 and maybe Sonic Rush 3 for 3DS which I’m still hoping for.

  2. Wow……..smh. If this isn’t a sign of Sega slowly getting out of the gaming business I don’t know what is. I think they’ll stick around for another two years and still make a few games for consoles, PCs, smartphones and tablets but after that I really don’t see Sega staying in the gaming spectrum. And it’s a shame because Sega was once a great gaming company. The Genesis and Dreamcast are two of my favorite gaming systems of all-time

      1. They already inadvertently killed Sonic with not only rushing Sonic Boom, but also having no quality control over that game. I’ll be surprised if there will ever be another good Sonic game, or even a decent one for that matter.

        1. No, they didn’t mill Sonic, but if they actually made SA3, no matter what, the fans would be in a outrage because it wasn’t how they want it.

      1. Was that even necessary? Sega is a company and far from singular. Pretty sure are is correct in this case.

Since it’s a company name, it’s “is” not “are.” EA IS a horrible company. Ubisoft IS on the road to being just like EA. Activision IS arguably already as bad as EA. Nintendo IS botching up in a lot of areas even if their games still are fun to play at times. Microsoft IS only in it for the money. Sony IS doing only great as a console making game company as every other division is not making as much anymore.

  4. They should have a booth by legacy alone its not their fault the company was mis managed! Sega is on par with nintendo!

    1. Do you realize what you just said? You could have possibly started a flame war with your name on it! A flame war where I’m a Boss Ass Bitch and Nintendo Commander (or whatever the heck his name is now) go at it with organized name-calling for 30 minutes.
Be careful, man, you aren’t safe here for long with that kind of speech! (Sarcasm, but still somewhat sadly true)

      1. Ah nintendo comander understands my pure gameing stance i liked both systems and they are both great nintendo knows that and so do i!

          >>>Nothing is on par with the holy N, but at least you aren’t talking or even like Xboxes right?>>>

  5. Ever since Nintendo stopped doing their traditional E3 press conferences, I haven’t had as much interest in E3. And SEGA, while I do respect them in some ways, I’ve NEVER had an interest in their games. Sad, but true.

          1. I beat all the world tour challenges back in 2012. So good and challenging. The blue cars in the traffic challenges though!! I heard there was a patch to make some missions a bit easier unfortunately, but I’m guessing it’s still a good challenge.

            1. I was going to beat all them, but the traffic challenges were brutal. I did every other challenge and saved them for last. But I was stuck on one of them and I always hit a car because I screwed up on the drifting. And the times when I didn’t make any screw ups, I still wasn’t fast enough. So I was like “Yeah… Screw this crap.”

              1. Yeah, I raged so much, I went crazy many times on the traffic challenges, haha. By the way, that race against AGES’ lap record in that water lair was brutal. Especially since you gotta know exactly how to navigate the place, one little crash and you’re pretty much done.

            2. Yea they patched the traffic ones lol. I beat them all before they made it easier :p but yea they were hard lol.

          1. Try it out sometime, you might like it. It has a big single player experience, so I think you’re in for a treat. There are so many “stickers” to collect for beating, unlocking, or doing certain tasks in a race.

  6. This is why I dislike reading about gaming news anymore. People take one small thing and make it into some grand failure or decling moment. They just will not have a booth this year. No big deal. It is just news confirming Sega will not have a booth this year nothing more nothing less.

  8. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

    >>>I suggest that the Segans reconstruct their demise instead and submit themselves to the empire before they are wiped out completely>>>

    1. I actually agree. Give Nintendo the reigns to a new Sonic game- maybe then it’ll actually turn out good unlike the last 3 disappointments Lost World, SB Shattered Crystal and SB Rise of Lyric.

  9. Nintendo isn’t a empire its a business they make games I dont know what fantasy world you are living in theres no empire there never was one it doesn’t exist your just a geeky gamer like everyone else nobody special

  10. I don’t understand why they don’t try to revive their neglected IPs if they seriously don’t have anything to show for anymore. Looks like a Nintendo buyout is inevitable

    1. Because they don’t sell as well as Sonic. If you want some sega games; go to Japan where Sonic doesn’t sell well and other franchises like Puyo Puyo and Yakuza sell better.

    2. Nintendo has a bad habit of neglecting its franchises too- no F-Zero (the likes of X/GX) since 2003, no Custom Robo since 2005, no true 3D Mario platformer since 2010, and we’re only this year getting a new Star Fox since 2006.

If the Big N bought Sega, their franchises like Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS, Space Channel 5, etc. would probably share the fates of the Nintendo franchises I mentioned already.

      1. It’s not like SEGA is doing anything with those IPs either way. Those SEGA IPs you mentioned are already in the same boat as F-Zero and the like and will stay that way even if Nintendo doesn’t buy them out

  12. Good.Nothing good comes from SEGA anymore. They’ve made a few decent games these past 5 years, but they’ve had more disappointments in comparison.Quite the shame how they’ve fallen from their former glory we saw in the 90’s.Oh well

  13. Ridley, the Angel of Death

Of course they won’t technically have one. They want to go all in on mobile since they apparently rather make cheap phone games instead of console games. Just look at the fact Sonic Boom for Wii U was released with all kinds of bugs. Sega just doesn’t care about high quality anymore, so going mobile is a way to ditch high quality for low quality.
