We know that some of you who prefer physical games were opting for the physical edition of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch system. Today we have some bad news to share as it seems as though if you do opt for the physical edition of the entertaining 3D platforming trilogy you will be required to download an additional 8.7GB to have the full collection on your Switch system. Spyro Reignited Trilogy officially lands on the Nintendo Switch on 3rd September.
Well that sucks. This is low on my radar either way. How big is the file without the physical cart ?

Wow, Activision in all it’s glory couldn’t fit a 15gb game in a single cartridge.
Can someone who knows this stuff better than I do go to bat for them or is this just them being lazy/miserly as usual?
I assume the 15gb is the amount of space needed after installation (not the download size). In this case it’s just Activision cheaping out and saving those $2 per cartridge (or whatever the price difference is). I wouldn’t be surprised if the digital download will be on discount very soon anyway (while the physical version will still cost the same). So the decision is solely driven by greed (and not a rational decision that they need the extra money in order for the physical version to be profitable).

I was hoping that this game would be a saving grace, but now it’s just a Black Friday/Cyber Monday priority (if the digital version goes on sale at all)…..

Thanks for ruining my favorite series on the Nintendo Switch. Physical Games Should have no required downloads. It’s Why I skipped Capcom’s MegaMan and Resident Evil titles for the system and now I guess that I won’t be buying Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Thanks
