Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo Of America President Discusses Nintendo 3DS Redesign

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime recently had the chance to sit down with MTV to field a direct question about whether or not we’re going to see a redesign of the Nintendo 3DS any time soon.

“It’s interesting. We haven’t even sold the first one and consumers are asking about what’s next,” chuckled Fils-Aime.

  1. In another interview he said about redesigns that he wouldn’t disappoint customers…a bit vague, but certainly hints at it.

  2. Well of course people are asking for redesigns. The GB and GBA both had two, and the DS had freakin’ three.

  3. I wouldn’t buy it either way. I still use a DS Lite. Usually, people just buy whichever edition of a system is newest, which is why you see 8 year olds with DSi XL while you still have a plain DS. Of course, if my 3DS broke, I would buy whichever is newest too. Unless the new design is really bad, in which case I’d just go for the cheaper older version.

  5. I’ll wait. I believe Nintendo purposefully holds back on a new system to realease something better later, i.e., battery life.
