Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime recently had the chance to sit down with MTV to field a direct question about whether or not we’re going to see a redesign of the Nintendo 3DS any time soon.
“It’s interesting. We haven’t even sold the first one and consumers are asking about what’s next,” chuckled Fils-Aime.

In another interview he said about redesigns that he wouldn’t disappoint customers…a bit vague, but certainly hints at it.
I have no hurry. I’ll wait. Im content with my ps3, wii and DS for a couple of more years.
I DO want a Zelda version tho. A golden one.Mama Nintendo, got it?:D
I have a feeling there will be a redesign. I rather not wait and just get the 3DS now.
Well of course people are asking for redesigns. The GB and GBA both had two, and the DS had freakin’ three.
I wouldn’t buy it either way. I still use a DS Lite. Usually, people just buy whichever edition of a system is newest, which is why you see 8 year olds with DSi XL while you still have a plain DS. Of course, if my 3DS broke, I would buy whichever is newest too. Unless the new design is really bad, in which case I’d just go for the cheaper older version.
If they did a significant redesign with twice the battery life, I would trade mine in for one for sure.

I’ll wait. I believe Nintendo purposefully holds back on a new system to realease something better later, i.e., battery life.
